I was pulling the CJ down to get the exhaust done today. I heard some noises while towing it and didn't think too much about it, I thought maybe the brakes were dragging a bit. I get down to the shop and the wheel weights that Discount Tire put on the front tires had came off the rim and got stuck between the caliper and the rotor. I pried the weights out, but still one caliper is attacking like it is stuck to the rotor. I am wondering if the brakes just need to cool down or maybe I need to take some wrenches when I pick the Jeep up (remove the caliper or at least open the bleeder and pry the caliper apart)?

I think out of the set of 5 wheels and tires I got from Rick 2 still have the weights on them. Maybe it is time to have all of them redone with "regular" weights. Grrrrrrr....

I've heard of those weights falling off, but not getting stuck like yours did (although it apparently can happen). I've always used 'regular' weights, but doing what we do, they never last long. Rocks slide them on the rim or knock them off completely so your tires don't stay balanced long. For me, it's no big deal as my CJ hardly leaves the garage except for runs where I could care less about balance. For a DD, this wouldn't be acceptible and you'd need to have your tires balanced more often to replace moved/missing weights.
