Ihave a 1955 cj5 that I'm doing a frame off restoration on.
My problem is the bumper mount pto. Is anyone familier
with which way the gears face in the case, as one side of the gear, the spline snount is offset by about 1/4 inch.
Thx, john1947

Are you talking about a PTO winch or is the Koenig (I am assuming) PTO set up for and output at the bumper for tools?

I think a good person to ask would be Herm.

Chech out Hermtheoverdriveguy.com online.

Also check out Willys Tech.

Vern who is a member there writes for JP magazine. If he or someone else there don't know he will know who does.

This is a bumper mount, driveshaft in from transfercase,
two gears, only I.D on case is W.O and pat. #. Herm was
no help.

I have a PTO set up, pictures would be invaluable in helping you. My initial reaction is to wonder if you have part of a capstan winch, but without pictures ....
