Test post

Had a chance to recently to check out a really stunning canyon this past weekend. It was off of SR87, heading toward Chavez pass...just where the pines start from the high desert south the Winslow. Also did some exploring of East Clear Creek. Very nice.

I'll be making a camping trip back there this spring to explore some more.

Yup - round a 20 degree high...but it was a sunny day, and down in the canyon, we were out of the wind. Really beautiful place w/ some huge ponderosa's.

Take Louisa and the dogs?

How do I find this place? We're thinking about taking the kids camping and were looking for a nice spot... this place good for children?

Louisa and I went up for a couple of days and had a great time. To get there, take SR87 and head towards Winslow. After you're up on the rim, and start coming down toward the high desert, about 6 miles past Mack's Crossing will be FR69 on the west side of the road. That's it. May require 4wd if it's muddy, but it's an easy road.

If you're looking some something up that way, but a little closer, take SR87 up to the rim. Right after you pass the FR to Blue Ridge Reservior (after Clint's Well), and after Moqui campground will be FR95 (on right). Some reall great places back in there.
