I am taking my test this Saturday and I just charged the batteries for the HTX 202 2m I got. Now I do not intend on transmitting until I get my license but I want to make sure it is working so I would like to know if someone would be willing to transmit something so I can see if it is receiving. Tell me what channel to set it to and then let me know a time to listen. I would greatly appreciate it.

The 4x4 Ham net is at 8:15 tonight. Tune your radio to Mt Ord(146.920.)

147.24 and 146.92 both have quite a bit of traffic. Listen there.

Keep it on either of those freqs and you should hear something during the next couple of days. Good luck on the test.

Google "arizona repeater association" for tons of information on arizona frequencies.

This weekend is a long distance running event that will have the shaw butte 147.240 and mount ord 146.360 going steady all day friday till Saturday night. If you hear Xray-31, that's me:)

Good luck! Take a look at the general test questions before hand. You can take that test as well for no additional pennies. You will probably fail but at least you can see what is on it.

x2, who knows you may get enough answers right that you can get your upgrade to General right away. Ya never know until you try...

Actually, with enough cramming you could pass the general. I saw a story where a 9 yo just passed the extra. I bombed it but I didn't even look at the material before hand.

Good list of repeaters to have --> http://w7ara.org/Web/AraFreq.htm

There will be the Ragnar Relay support net on 146.94 starting Friday morning by 7am and will go all the way through Saturday evening. Many of the 4x4 Hams will be on Team Bravo Friday afternoon which is checkpoints 7-12. Listen for us.
