Has anyone been to either of these runs?
I did the mansion run a month ago, and it was a blast the last 2 miles (rated as a 7 in one offroad book, but to me it was about a 4) I was planning on posting a trip there in the coming weeks, and wondered how many have been and who might be interested?
Oh by the way... Hi I'm Jim :D

Its been over a year since I have been up there, that whole area is full of old mines and roads all over the place. There is a portion of the road that is on State land if you follow the book as far as in and out of the area, so permit required. The book that rates it a 7 is on the 10 scale for SUV's so it isn't really that hard. The whole Copper Creek Mining area is full of History and fun to explore. Been wanting to get back up there for a fun day, I know my son has been wanting to go back up there also. Might see you there.

Went down there 2 years ago when I still had my Tacoma, but haven't taken the xj down there. Its a beautiful area that not many seem to know about.

The best thing to do is buy the book "Backcountry Adventures Arizona" by Peter Massey and Jeanne Wilson. The book is done on a 10 scale and is intended for Sport Utility Vehicles. This trail is rated a 7 in the book. But a stock jeep should be ok thru most of the trail with little problems.
The trail is located about 12 miles east of Mammoth in the Copper Creek Minining District. Happy Wheeling. :)

I'll post a trip in the coming weeks for it. I doubt we can get many vehicles back in there, so it should be a short wheelbase/small group run.
I hope to see you all at Crown King.

I'm kind of short wheelbase now...
Devilman,
Sibley is a neat little run (not terribly long), I don't know if there's enough rough stuff to keep you interested or not. However I do know a road nearby that I was thinking "Winch City" when I started up it.

Ok folks,
How would everyone feel about next weekend? This weekend is kind of out with CK.
P.S. We will cross state land a couple of times, and of course you should have a permit for this.

Ok folks this weekend is a no go for me. My significant other thinks I should catch up on honey doo's since I've been out wheeling every weekend since I got the Unlimited. I can post up the trip for the following weekend if thats agreeable, if not I'm sure someone else could lead this weekend.
