I am headed down to Tucson and thinking about taking my daughter out to Chivo falls for a day trip. I am going to install my rocker guards and then hit the trail, I was wondering if anyone else was interested in going? Let me know, AL

I am definitely interested. I am going to be in the Catalina area this weekend. Was thinking about running Charouleau, but Chivo might work as well. Site says it's about a 3.5, but I have never ran it before.

give me a call 520-245-3092, if I don't answer please leave a message, we will be leaving out about noonish from 1st and Ft Lowell, we can meet up anywhere between there and the trailhead.
I have been reading about a short loop that is really challenging that goes up behind the falls, if anyone knows how to get there I would appreciate it. The plan as of now is to ride out, picnic and play in the water a little (I know the water is cold) and ride back. If we see some really cool obstacles then we will stop along the way.
BTW, this trail shouldn't be more then a 3, there are by-passes for almost any obstacle, but there are planty of obstacles to have a little fun with.

Al, forgive the ignorance. But where is Chivo Falls in accordance to Tucson?

Chivo Fals is in the Reddington Pass area just east of Tucson. Take speedway to wilmot, go north, Wilmot turns into Tangue Verde, stay on Tangue Verde till the road ends, this is reddington Pass. Go in the road and you will eventually get to a developped trail head with a parking lot and a BLM sign, it will be on the right, this is the trail to Chivo Falls. I wouldn't trust these directions to easily get you there, but it gives a pretty good idea. Thanks alot, AL
