Hey people, if some of you want to write a few lines about the AZ VJC, what
do you do, a little history about the club, I will be glad to post it for
the April Issue, so you can show to other wheelers how a great club is.! I
wish I had a club like it closer to me.

Given this information, it would be better to postpone the Crown King
trip to another weekend. However, what about an alternate trip for
this weekend, does anyone have any suggestions? Or would everyone just
rather go on with the Crown King run, since the runners will have at
least a 2 hour head start? (Which means we'll probably start running
into them where the trail is the narrowest, after Oro Belle).

Alternate suggestions:
- Play on the trails around the P4W Ranch area (also near Lake
Pleasant)
- Plan a trip in the Bartlet Area (FR42 or Spare Tire Canyon)
- Play at the South end of the WhiteTanks (Sand Hills, Washes and
Rocks)
- ?????

Does anyone run a chevy V8 in a CJ or YJ, along with an engine driven
cooling fan? Im back to work on my CJ and I was talking to someone today who
said I will have overheating problems if I didnt run an electric fan.

Jay, are you still running the Mepco radiator? Fan shroud?

I have and planned on using a Mepco 4-core radiator. I dont want to go
electric.

Roger,
Not at all claiming to be the expert on this problem, from what I have
heard, it appears that Phoenix PD are the ones writing the tickets, mostly
on the North end of the valley. I guess they have annexed some area that
has state land in the middle of it. Hence, they write tickets when the
locals complain about the dust, etc. If you are not around the City of
Phoenix area, I don't believe you will have much of a problem (just my
opinion).

My state trust land recreational permit just expired and I'm thinking
about renewing it. But having read here about people with permits being
cited for the dust abatement ordinance, I'm having second thoughts. Can
anyone tell me about this ordinance? Is it enforced everywhere or just
close to town? Does it prohibit me from traveling on trust land in any way
or does it just prohibit me from kicking up a bunch of dust. And how much
is a bunch? Sounds like the enforcement could be rather subjective. TIA!

What about:
You know your a Jeep owner when...

Getting a bigger pumpkin does not mean Halloween is around the corner

Getting bigger meats does not mean a trip to the butcher

A quick disconnect is not something you do when you are on the phone with your
lover and the spouse walks in the room

a 4x4 is not a peice of lumber

Bead Locks do not hold a necklace together

A rollover is not something you do with an IRA

Crawling for a grown person is OK

When you explain to your co-workers that you bought a winch this weekend and
they ask you "can't you get thrown in jail for that?"

Tread Lightly is not what you do when coming home too late so the spouse does
not hear you.

When you see how far you can climb that 6 tons of rock that were just dropped
off for your front yard (see previous Arizona list)

Go buy Moses Ludel's Jeep owners bible. The vehicle he uses for an
example in
the section where he talks about electric vs. engine driven fans is
ours.

Then call one of the companies like Hayden and ask them about airflow
through electric fans vs. engine driven fans.

There is no way an electric fan can cool like a good 6 or 7 blade heavy
duty engine driven fan. The worst operating condition will be slow
crawling up hill. This is a far cry from a hot summer day in city
driving with a car.

Been there, done that, no more electric fans for me (although they're
ok as an auxiliary to engine driven fans).

Also, my 77 Bronco ran hot until I pulled the carbed engine and put in
a 90 Mustang 5.0 HO EFI. I had an auxiliary electric fan. I removed the
electric fan after the engine swap. A properly done installation just
doesn't need it.

31x10.5 tires on whatever rims you pick. Will be close but you might be

Hey All,

It was a blast this weekend at the arca event I was working trail 2 obstacle
5. I think it was the toughest of the event, of the 60 who attempled
it.......14 made it over and eight of those winched...all the other
competitors timed out!

Several broken axles, one rollover, and only one perfect score on the
obstacle from Shannon Campbell

Wh had over 400 spectators on friday and double that at times on Saturday.
There was only one line up and over and if you missed the line by 2" you
fell off the side or into a 4' crack. Saw a bunch of you all during the
event. it was a great time!

When is the next one....I gotta go! Maybe we can convoy as a group and camp
again.
