I got a message from egroups today that I was bouncing and would be
permanently removed from the list. What caused this? How do I prevent it?
My life line is about to be cut!!!

You get a bouncing message when eGroups fails to get emails to you sent from the group.

This is from the eGroups help page:

What is a "bouncing" e-mail address?
A subscriber whose address is listed as "Bouncing" is one whose e-mail host is reporting an error of some sort when we attempt to deliver a message. This can be caused by temporary network disconnects, running out of disk space for e-mail, non-payment of an ISP bill, or in the case of students, graduation.

If after three days, all messages sent to a subscriber have bounced, eGroups.com will stop attempting. The subscriber, if registered, will still be able to come to the website and read the messages there.

For those times when a subscriber lets you know that their e-mail account is working again, we provide a way to reset the bounce status. Once the status is reset, the system will again try to deliver each message, rather than just one per day.

It is not necessary or helpful in most cases to reset the bounce status of a subscriber. It will be reset automatically as soon as the e-mail address starts working again.

Anyone who has ever attempted to run a large e-mail distribution list without the help of sophisticated "bounce processing" will know how much trouble bad addresses can cause. Bad addresses routinely get redelivered many times so they cost much more to keep on a group than a valid subscriber. As a result, they could slow down message delivery to people whose e-mail accounts actually work.

Have I been eliminated?

This is a test to see if I receive this. There maybe a problem with the

Hmm..."How do you earn a sticker?" I thought we covered that one a few
weeks back. All ya gotta do is show up with soap, water and wax to clean
our Jeeps. Everybody's. All 230+ of 'em. That earns you a sticker.

Otherwise, you just need to get in contact with Jon Loveless, he has had
the stickers printed and should still have some left.

You know you live in PHOENIX when:

You buy salsa by the quart.

Your Christmas decorations includes a half a yard of sand and 100 paper
bags.

You think that a red light is merely a suggestion.

All of your out-of-state friends start to visit after October but clear
out
come the end of April.

You can say Hohokam and people don't think you're laughing funny.

Most of the restaurants in your town have the first name "El" or "Los".

You no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water.

You see more irrigation water on the street than there is in the Salt
River.

Vehicles with open windows have the right-of-way in the summer.

You have to go to a fake beach for some fake waves.

You think six tons of crushed rock makes a beautiful yard.

You've signed so many petitions to recall governors that you can't
remember
the name of the incumbent.

You know that Valley Fever isn't a disco dance.

You can finish a Big Gulp in 10 minutes and go back for seconds.

The water from the cold water tap is the same temperature as the hot
one.

You can (correctly) pronounce the words: Saguaro, Tempe, Gila Bend, San
Xavier, Canyon de Chelly, Mogollon Rim, Cholla, and Ajo.

You notice your car overheating before you drive it.

Your house is made of stucco and Styrofoam, and has a red clay tile
roof.

You think someone driving and wearing oven mitts is clever.

You know a swamp cooler is not a happy hour drink.

You can say 115 degrees without fainting.

Every other vehicle is a 4X4

You can be in the snow, then drive for an hour and it will be over 100
degrees.

People break out coats when temperature drops below 70.

You discover, in July, that it only takes two fingers to drive your car.

The pool water is warmer than you are.

You can make sun tea instantly.

People will drive over a hundred miles just to see snow.

You run your air conditioner in the middle of winter so you can use your

fireplace.

Most people will not drink tap water unless they are under dire
conditions.

Most homes will have more firearms then people.

Kids will ask "What's a mosquito?".

People with black cars or have black upholstery in their car are
automatically assumed to be from out-of-state or nuts.

You notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of
distance.

The AC is on your list of best friends.

Monday Night Football starts at 7:00 instead of 9:00

It's noon in July, kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is
moving
on the streets.

You actually burn your hand opening the car door.

Sun screen is sold year round, kept at the front of the checkout
counter, a
formula less than 30 spf is a joke, and you wear it just to go to Circle

K.

Some fool can market mini-misters for joggers and other fools will
actually
buy them.

Hot air balloons can't go up, because the air outside is hotter than the

air
inside.

No one would dream of putting vinyl upholstery in a car.

"unroaded" in establishing roadless areas for Wilderness designation.

"Under the terms of the settlement agreement the Forest Service is
banned from using the Road Moratorium to close a single mile of road",

attorney for United. "United obtained evidence that many, if not all,
of the national forests were using the Temporary Road Moratorium to
create de facto wilderness areas as part of forest planning", stated
Boucher, who predicted in early 1998 that this was the plan of the

motorized recreationists", remarked Boucher.

Hi All,

I am sure you all read the email that United Four Wheel Drive
Associations, the nation's leading representative of four wheel drive
enthusiasts, has compelled the Federal Government to sign a settlement
agreement prohibiting the US Forest Service from categorically closing
roads or using the term "unroaded" in establishing roadless areas for
Wilderness designation. Carla Boucher is the full-time lawyer for the
UFWDA and has been working on this lawsuit for over two years. I think
she deserves a big thank you for all of us.

I haven't found a card on-line that we can all sign separately so what I
thought we could do is all AZ-VJCers can send me an email with some sort
of thank you message. I will do lots of cutting and pasting, then send
Carla one huge message along with an electronic greeting card. What do
you think?

Just send a reply email with the above subject so I can keep track of
them all. So all you members that have been lurking in the shadows, it's
time to show your appreciation. This win is HUGE!

Thanks!
Linda

Jeep while at a 4wheel event. I am too trusting I guess. The reason I am
certain it was stolen and not just lost. After I got home from Florence, my
home phone rang. I picked up the call but no one answered. I noticed that my
caller ID said the call was from MY CELL PHONE! I had some quick keys
programmed and my guess is that the thief was playing around with and
accidentally pushed the quick key that dialed my home phone.
Sadly, I have to suggest that even at a Jeep event, lock your vehicle. There
are thieves among us.

When you get out to that area you really want to head north west through
some of the washes and you will find the good stuff.... there are several
washes that come up out of nowhere that is probably where they were..

Dave
P.S. We do need to do a clean up there too.. it is always bad but most of it
is the local teenagers partying up there.. I used to live out in buckeye and
we partied out there all the time..

Thinking I may have taken a wrong turn. I continued on the dirt road past
some houses thorugh the curves an found a single dune. While it was fun and
I will most likely go back, if nothing else to clean the place up, it's a
mess. The hill was fun. Is this the place or is there more?

There were quite a few people out there this weekend. Seemed most of the
quad and bike bunches were making the trash.

Did see yellow wrangler and a Ghost Black TJ. This was the most interesting
part of our trip. As we headed down the path, East, next to the wash from
Miller road, a Black TJ approched us heading West. As we reached less that
a 1/8 mile from each other we lost site at a little wash area that we had to
go down and back up. The Ghost TJ was nowhere to be found. We looked
everywhere. There was no place to go. My brother and I could not figure out
where it went and we could not find them. Weird thing is, we both saw it.
Anyway we had a great time.

Thanks for the directions.

Chris
