Does the club currently have club stickers for members?
How do you earn a sticker?
I have only been a member for about a month. I have found this to be a very
friendly and helpful environment for Jeep owners(especially us first time
owners). If you have a problem working on your Jeep or need help you can
get it here.
I would like to thank everyone for the warm reception I have received here
and look forward to future events. All your responces to the Jeep Leak were
fantastic, it showed along with getting the answer this group has a great
sense of humor.
Thanks again.

Subject: spare rim on the West side
Anyone have an old rim collecting dust on the West side of town? I am
looking for a 15"x6" (old '89 Cherokee style), 5 on 4.5" pattern. I am
getting ready for a Death Valley Jeep trip and I need to make up a spare for
my Jeep trailer. Linda has one but we are on opposite sides of the valley
and my free time schedule is not working out well for me to get over to her
place (sorry Linda).
I found a couple at a auto shop on Grand Ave., but the guy wanted way too
much for a rusted out rim. Come on folks, make me a deal I can't refuse!

Hey Guys
I was the Judge for this obstacle ( course 1, # 5) and you might like to know
that a Scrambler with an excellent spotter made a perfect 0 on that same line
on Friday. Lets hear it for the Jeeps!

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!! When he got hung up and seemed stuck, I actually walked
away. I had to get going. I'm really mad that I missed that! Was it a HUGE
pop? Was it the axle or housing or what? I really hope someone who knows
more about it does a write up.

The rock just after the V used to be a lot easier to get around, but IIRC a
little jeep got hung up on it the week after we ran that wash together and
the rock moved when they winched him off. That wash should be really
interesting after the 3 day rain....... :-)

TO SETTLE OUT OF COURT
United Four Wheel Drive Associations, the nation's leading
representative of four wheel drive enthusiasts, has compelled the
Federal Government to sign a settlement agreement prohibiting the US
Forest Service from categorically closing roads or using the term
"unroaded" in establishing roadless areas for Wilderness designation.
"Under the terms of the settlement agreement the Forest Service is
banned from using the Road Moratorium to close a single mile of road",
stated Carla Boucher, author of the agreement and nationally recognized
attorney for United. "United obtained evidence that many, if not all,
of the national forests were using the Temporary Road Moratorium to
create de facto wilderness areas as part of forest planning", stated
Boucher, who predicted in early 1998 that this was the plan of the
Forest Service all along. "This agreement prevents the creation of de
facto wilderness, protecting nearly 347,000 miles of access for
motorized recreationists", remarked Boucher.
For more information about the settlement agreement contact United by

Hey Jay
I tried to get back to you before but don't know where it went. I was the
Judge at Course 1 Obsticle 5 where you took this picture. He got a good bang
out of that 2.5 ton axle. You might be interested to know that a Scrambler
went thru on Friday with a perfect score and did that same line. I guess he
had a better spotter. The Curry team was in their TJ Larry and they did really
well, they scored a 2 on this one. Jay, I was not able to get any pictures
while working so if you have any more from this same place, I sure would like
to get some.

YES! I'll be seeing Carla at the UFWDA Land Use Conference in a couple of
weeks. Let's make her a AZ-VJC member! I have an extra decal and t-shirt.
What would be great is to sent her a electronic congratulations card 'signed'
by as many members of the AZ-VJC as we can get. Anyone know of a good on-line
greeting card site and how we can do this?

Subject: Re: ARCA event..... Top 10 scores
(1) Bernier - Jeep CJ.
(2) Waggoner (Currie team) - Jeep TJ. They were awesome on Course 2 Obstacle
7. The first ones to figure out that backing down it was easier than trying to
make a hard left turn. Excellent teamwork.
(3) Joel P Randall - I think he was driving a YJ. I think he backed down the
obstacle too. BTW: His 1998 ZJ is featured in a 'how-to' article in the latest
Four Wheeler magazine.
I am surprised that Ellis and Campbell scored so low. Randy Ellis' driving was
impeccable -- except for the rollover on 5. Campbell's driving was great, but
his spotter took out a flag at the obstacle I was judging.
The best driver I saw at the competition was Stevie Richardson. Blue, white,
and yellow Toyota truck. His driving style was wonderful.
I am thinking about going up to the Cedar City Color Challenge just to watch
the rock crawling championship.

UNITED FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ASSOCIATIONS
FORCES U.S. FOREST SERVICE
For more information about the settlement agreement contact United by
calling Carla Boucher at 757-482-4474.

Count me in too. I may take the chicken trail this time though.....all
depends on how much of my front suspension I have time to rebuild between
now and then and if Troy Franks has time to finish my custom gas tank. I
doubt that I'll have time to finish the Z28 gauge cluster installation by
then, but I can run just fine on just the tach, temp, and oil pressure
gauges.

The rock just after the V used to be a lot easier to get around, but IIRC a
little jeep got hung up on it the week after we ran that wash together and
the rock moved when they winched him off. That wash should be really
interesting after the 3 day rain....... :-)

How do you earn a sticker?
I have only been a member for about a month. I have found this to be a very
friendly and helpful environment for Jeep owners(especially us first time
owners). If you have a problem working on your Jeep or need help you can
get it here.
I would like to thank everyone for the warm reception I have received here

fantastic, it showed along with getting the answer this group has a great

Thanks again.

Anyone have an old rim collecting dust on the West side of town? I am

getting ready for a Death Valley Jeep trip and I need to make up a spare for

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!! When he got hung up and seemed stuck, I actually walked
away. I had to get going. I'm really mad that I missed that! Was it a HUGE
pop? Was it the axle or housing or what? I really hope someone who knows
more about it does a write up.

The rock just after the V used to be a lot easier to get around, but IIRC a
little jeep got hung up on it the week after we ran that wash together and
the rock moved when they winched him off. That wash should be really
interesting after the 3 day rain....... :-)

UNITED FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ASSOCIATIONS
FORCES U.S. FOREST SERVICE
For more information about the settlement agreement contact United by
calling Carla Boucher at 757-482-4474.

Count me in too. I may take the chicken trail this time though.....all
depends on how much of my front suspension I have time to rebuild between
now and then and if Troy Franks has time to finish my custom gas tank. I
doubt that I'll have time to finish the Z28 gauge cluster installation by
then, but I can run just fine on just the tach, temp, and oil pressure
gauges.

Thanks for all your help! I briefly checked out the web site. Wow! Lots
of info. I'll read more later but for now read your article on the Coves
Cleanup. We definitely appreciate the work you and your group did, but
wouldn't it be nice if all people were concerned and didn't litter in the
first place?
I've asked Hall Ashcroft, Deputy Recreation Officer, to give you a call and
coordinate on the Bulldog Canyon work you'd like to do. He's the one with
the best knowledge on where to put the collected trash.
Thanks again!

The rock just after the V used to be a lot easier to get around, but IIRC a
little jeep got hung up on it the week after we ran that wash together and
the rock moved when they winched him off. That wash should be really
interesting after the 3 day rain....... :-)
