Hi Gang,
I'm trying to convert a large Microsoft Money file (windows version) to quicken for Apple.
The process is rather convoluted... and looks like this:
Convert Windows Money file to Windows Quicken file
Convert Windows Quicken file to Mac Quicken file.
I've purchased Quicken 2004 for the Mac... but in order to complete the conversion, I need Quicken 2003-2004 for windows... JUST to use to convert the database and nothing else.
Now... I could go out and buy Quicken 2004 for windows just to do the conversion... but I really hate to waste money like that.
If anyone has a copy of Quicken 2004 for Windows... and would be willing to let me use it for the conversion process... please let me know.
Kind Regards,
Joe

do they have a 30 day trial software you can try...at my parents shop they had the same problem with quickbooks going from the apple to the pc...the quickbooks trial was a full working copy for 30 days...so they just used it on the apple to convert the database......just an idea...

Thanks Andrew... I'll do a search for thirty day trial on quickbooks and see if I can come up with a link.

We have the Windoze version of the 2004 quicken. We both work down around the airport or at Mesa Dr. and Baseline. You could call in the morning, we leave at 6AM. I will load it up in my duffel and you can call me any time you get around @ 602-320-8456 or call me at work after 7:30 602-437-0144

Hi Tim,
That's mighty nice... I'll give you a call at your work today and hopefully come pick it up this afternoon before you leave.
Thanks Tim!

Hi Tim,
Just called your office number... spelled your last name but it says no such extension found. Tried getting an operator... but no one answered.
If you get a chance, call me at (480) 552-9722.
Kind Regards,
Joe

My mom works for intuit and got some options. Here was her response.
That this URL: http://www.intuit.com/support/quicken/2004/win/569358.html is the instruction on converting. A free trial of Quicken is available and can be used to update the older Quicken file to a more current one that will convert to Mac.
this was the second response.
The Quicken customer who needs to convert to Quicken for Mac can purchase Quicken Win 2004, covert the data and return it for a refund if returned to Intuit within 60 days. This is best done by ordering direct from Intuit or downloaded but can be done with retail purchases. The reason for refund - converted to Mac. Be sure to provide proof of purchase for Quicken for Mac 2004.
They could request to just get a free one but I don't know if that would be approved. They'd fax in proof of purchase for the Quicken Mac purchase if it was not direct from Intuit to receive a replacement CD for Quicken Win 2004 to use for conversion. Fax to me at 520 901-2489 and I'll take it to Quicken on my break to see if it can be done. Mark the fax in large letters Attn: Fran.
Hope this helps.
