Dad was shipping to Iraq, and the daughter did not want him to go, so she held his hand up until deployment. CO didn't have the heart to make her sit down.

I had tears too. Especially hard being in CA for the last 8 weeks and missing my family. Makes you think of the sacrifices these heros endure. Prayers go out to all of the men and women overseas.

man, that's awesome!

i can only wish i had send-offs like that when i deployed. i was stationed in germany & single. all 5 of my deployments to iraq were in the middle of the night, all the single soldiers were doing the "duffle bag drag" to the bus. most had family (wives and children) but several of us just walked up and got on the bus with no one to see us off.

I really love this pictuer..but as selfish as it sounds i'd go back tomorrow if i could...I get more experince in my job "over there" and i can say i have seen some crazy stuff and met some awesome people along the way..Being deployed is like no other..You build such an awesome bond with your brothers and sisters, its like you never left your family bc they are all next to you..
