Thanks Brian!
I'll post a map this weekend. The Jamboree site is a heck of a lot easier to find.

I copied this from last September's swap meet.
For those from Tucson going and need some directions.
I won't be able to make it due to my other 4WDC obligations :(

I know you all will have a good time.
I will be thinking of you all!
I like the idea of a quarterly clean up task force
and I know I will attend some of those.

Good luck and wear your sunscreen!

Here are the directions> better late than never.
Copied from Scott Deuty's book -( I hope I don't break some
copy write law)
the Four Wheel Drive Trails of Arizona - Vol 1
If you don't have this book, better get one!
(plug for Scott :-)

GETTING TO THE TRAIL FROM TUCSON, SAFFORD,
EAST VALLEY/MESA

To get to The Coves leave US60 in the east vally via Power Road
north (which becomes Bush Highway) or Ellsworth Road (which becomes
Usery
Pass) north and head east on Bush Highway.
The trip goes through the Salt river basin and across the Blue Point
Bridge
where tubers abound in the summer. Shortly after the tubing spots, the
road
turns north. Pass the marina and you begin to climb a hill. Look for and
take the right turn to butcher Jones beach.

GETTING TO THE TRAIL FROM THE PHOENIX/ SCOTTSDALE/
TEMPE AREA

From the Western Vally take the Beeline highway towards Payson,
head south on Bush Highway at the Saguaro lake turn off. Butcher Jones
Beach
is on your left just past the Stewart Mountain Group Site boat
overflowstaging area.

ONCE IN BUTCHER JONES,
take the one way loop past the beach and look for a green cattle
gate to the right about one hundred yards from where the road
leaves the beach. This is where the trail begins and where we will
meet.

It's Power Road. There is an exit for Superstition Springs road to the
west, and Sossaman to the east.

Hi all!

Don't have much to say, just wanted to enjoy the feeling of typing with BOTH
hands again! Everyone here except me is asleep (there's no one to gripe at
me) so I'm enjoying a few minutes without the bandages. My hand still looks
like a prop from a horror movie, but I can flex my fingers! Woo Hoo! I
actually succeeded in making a fist......wasn't sure that I'd be able to
bend my last two fingers enough to do that again.

Had a really fun time today at the doctors office.....they debreded (sp?
sounds like de-brayded) the burns. For those of you who haven't had the
pleasure, this is where they remove the dead skin with forceps, scissors,
and a scrub brush. Bring back any memories Lindel?

Well, all this new-found activity has started some really lovely looking
drainage, so I'm going to go wrap myself up again. I'll find out how well I
can drive off-road with one hand this weekend when I head out to the
Coves -- can't let something as minor as loosing the use of a hand interfere
with my wheelin' schedule.

take care!

Update on PowerTrax NoSlip:

They installed the front NoSlip, the 1"body and motor lifts, but it turns out that I have a Dana 35 rear w/TracLoc. They had ordered the NoSlip for the D44. So, I have to wait a week while they reorder. I can't believe how quiet it is. I switched between 2wd and 4wd and you definitely feel the lockup. It wants to plow thru turns but still no noise. The only time I hear anything is during the transition between forward and reverse - I get a good clunk much of the time as it engages/disengages. As for the body lift - the damn thing is harder to get into now, but there is no vibration and they were able to remove the transfer case drop installed during lift. I gained about 2 inches on that center skid plate - that was one of my main objectives. So far, very happy. Saturday will be a good time to test.

Subject: Room for a rider in your Jeep at the Coves?

Hello Everyone,

I'm in the middle of some major work on my TJ (getting ready to replace the
front axle). I can get to the meeting place at the coves, but I won't be
able to put the Jeep in 4 wheel drive mode since my current front axle ratio
is 3.73:1 and my rear axle ratio is 4.56:1. I can do one of two things:
I can try to make it to the easiest cove in two wheel drive mode with the
rear wheels ARB locked.
or
I can try to find a ride for my girlfriend and three of my children who want
to help.
I'll show up at the green gate at 9:00am on Saturday. If you have room for
a rider or two, please let me know.

Thanks

Joe West

Jim,

Thanks for setting this up. I logged on and everything worked as
advertised. Looks like about 7% discount. Certainly worth giving my
e-mail address out for. Sometimes I wonder if everyone in the free
world doesn't already have it.

Thanks again for your effort.
