Jeep go Bang?

Is it necessary to unhook the battery before welding on my Jeep? I don't want to create any electrical anomalies.

If in fact the answer was true, this is good information to know. I would have never thought about that before welding to my rig.

It is good practice to disconnect the battery, but it is because it can cause problems, not because it will cause problems. Trouble usually comes from things like not getting a good enough ground contact with the welder. Of all the welding I have done on my rig I have never undone my battery. (I am not condoning this type of behavior, I am just stating what I have done.) Haven't had any problems yet.



Better not tell those guys with the alternator welders that they need to disco their battery to weld on their rig. They might be upset that they spent all that money on a welder that they can't use on their rig.:D :D
