I paid $600 labor for both axles, which included ARB install (not extra
charge, since everything was out anyway). The actual r/p sets ran around
$385 or there abouts. I also had them install all new bearings - can't
recall what those added up to.

Subject: lower TC gears - NP208?
Hi all
All this talk about lower gears has got me thinking (always a dangerous and
usually expensive thing). Has anyone ever seen a low(er) gear conversion
for a NP208? I'm going to have to rebuild mine soon and would like to put
in a lower gear set while I have it apart if possible. I looked around on
the web, but haven't found anything yet. I'll ask in some of the full size
4x4 newsgroups too, but I figured that y'all would be the best source of
reliable info. :-)
My other option - and probably the best choice - would be to get rid of the
TH350 automatic and swap in a GM 4 speed like an SM465 or SM420. That would
give me the super low first gear for crawling and a lot more flexibility in
gear combinations. Hmmmm.....I think I'm convincing myself as I write this.
Has anybody in the group done an automatic to manual transmission
conversion?
TIA

hi David,
tried to call your number.
someone answered and said you were at work.
your 93 jeep could have come with different engines sizes.
they had different clutches too.
we need to know that to find the correct one.
the VIN will tell us that info.
you can e-mail us back or call at 602-249-6264.
thanks, Jim

quantity, not necesarily quality would be the best choice here. ;-)

the caps back on) Also had the locker, R&P, bearings, seals etc. Labor
ran somewhere around $100 per axle.

I walked up this trail a ways when we were out doing the fence project on the
State Trust Land access to the Charouleau Gap Trail. We parked our travel
trailer just outside the Catalina State Park gate. Az Game & Fish had their
extremely rough (had been rolled once and kind of repaired) 30' travel trailer
parked nearby. The start of the trail had a couple of 'filters' that would
definitely keep the riff-raff out! I thought this trail was closed to
motorized traffic, but I could be wrong.... The TRR would know more.

Hello everyone. I'm new to this, so if I'm doing something wrong, please
let me know.
Here is the deal: I grew up in Phoenix and hope to return in the near
future. However, for right now I live in the Oklahoma City area. Every
year, for the past 4 years, I've taken a group of guys from Oklahoma to see
the sights in Arizona. I've rented Jeeps in Sadona, rather than driving
mine own 1,000 miles to get there. We've had a great time driving from Lake
Pleasant to Crown King.
This year they are wanting to try something different. We'll be there for 4
days. Do you have any suggestions of where we could rent jeeps in Phoenix?
Do you have any suggestions of where we should go east of town?
Thanks for the help.

TJ, I put this lift on my 95 YJ in January. It's quick and easy to put on (quicker with air tools). I was pretty close to taking it off because the ride was so rough. Don't try to drive after eating a big meal kinfda rough. After eight weeks and going off road a number of times, it seems to be breaking in. Or, I'm just used to it.

CAPITOL CHAPTER PEOPLE FOR THE USA
MONTHLY MEETING
THURSDAY MAR. 2, 2000 7:00 PM
Arizona Mining And Mineral Museum (Back Door)
1502 West Washington Phoenix, AZ 85007
A VERY SPECIAL MEETING
Doug Schulz, a member of several four wheel drive clubs and a special friend
of everyone who gets off the pavement, will be talking to the Capitol Chapter
about his hobby and how 4WD clubs are recruiting and training new members to
use off highway etiquette to enjoy nature without tearing up the country
side. He will be showing a collection of pictures of some fantastic places
that are only accessible by 4WD.
There is a desperate need to teach off-highway etiquette in our High School
driver education and civics classes. Too many people leave the city
believing the back country is a place to be shot up, torn up and burned.
This will eventually lead to 4WD’s being completely locked out everywhere.
Insurance companies, and the DOT should require education in off highway
etiquette before issuing insurance or licenses to all vehicle user including
ATV’s and 4WDs.
The public and all PFUSA members are welcome. Invite a friend -
participation is encouraged
The Capitol Chapter of People for the USA, was established to inform people
in Central Arizona about the regulations that govern public and private
lands. Membership in the organization is open to everyone. Miners, mineral
collectors, treasure hunters, loggers, farmers, ranchers and others who use
these lands will find a wealth of useful information by attending these open
forum meetings. Please support the Capitol Chapter of People for the USA by
attending our meetings and learning about your government. If you have

This is the Southerland Trail. The Tucson Rough Riders run this occasionaly.
It goes in about 5 miles until it crosses the wilderness area line, they you
come back on the same route. The top 1/4 mile has a 4 or 4+ obstical
followed by a narrow boulder filled road to the top. I lead a run up there
recently. If some of you want to run it sometime, let me know.

Has anybody in the group done an automatic to manual transmission
conversion?

Don't know anything about that specific kit, but I've heard that ProComp
leaf springs tend to be a bit on the stiff side.

Subject: Advice
Hello everyone. I'm new to this, so if I'm doing something wrong, please
let me know.

If you have
trouble with this communication call Mason at (602) 944-3763

Count me in and it would not bother me at all if there
is snow or rain present on that day. Oh, besure to

I walked up this trail a ways when we were out doing the fence project on
the
State Trust Land access to the Charouleau Gap Trail. We parked our travel
trailer just outside the Catalina State Park gate. Az Game & Fish had their
extremely rough (had been rolled once and kind of repaired) 30' travel
trailer
parked nearby. The start of the trail had a couple of 'filters' that would
definitely keep the riff-raff out! I thought this trail was closed to
motorized traffic, but I could be wrong.... The TRR would know more.
