You are correct. The closing of the river bottom on the West side of
Phoenix has nothing to do with President Worthless Clinton.

I thought the Agua Fria NM was north of Black Canyon City -- closer to the
Sunset Point Rest Stop. I didn't think it included any of the West Phoinex
portion of the river bed. I thought that the area that has been used as an
impromptu play area was privately owned.

Regardless of its status I think taking down the barriers would be
considered
trespassing and not only could get you in a lot of trouble but give the
entire
OHV community a back eye and bad press. This is the last thing we need!

Of course, all the folks who regularly use this area could get organized and
take action. The pen is stilll mightier than the backhoe!

Hey Linda, Doug, and Matt,
Don't even get me started! The editors of that paper want to
see all off-highway vehicles banned from everywhere!
My "SHE J" decided she needed new brakes Thursday, so I made
her spend the night a shop and did not get her until late
Saturday night. So the clean up, meeting, everything was knocked
out for us. Geoff's Jeep was down too, we thought it was going to
get a new motor - but he fixed it.

I would love to do a camping/run to this spot! I like the
idea of May too. I'd like to meet some more Southern AZ folks.
I would also like to pre-run it, so if anyone has some time,
contact me and let's go do it!

Sinan,

It is in Sedona.
You would really enjoy it.
The trail is breathtaking and full size
rigs can make just fine. If you can't make
this run, the Tucson group runs up alot during the
springtime.

It isn't up to the Pink Jeep Tour Comapny to decide who can/can't be on the
same trails they use. At one time the Pink Jeep Tour Company was trying to
find a way to keep 4-wheelers off "their trails." One of their arguments was
was that regular 4-wheelers didn't use "environmentally safe tires" like they
did. The relationship between the 4x4 tour companies and private
individuals/ASA4WDC has not always been the best. FWIW: The 4x4 tour companies
were partly responsible for making the Charouleau Gap trail a deadend trail
for a couple of years.

Dear M/U Recreation Interests,

Although many of you have already seen the new issue of the Center for
Preventing Road's "Road-RIPorter", I wanted to give you the URL for it
and the recent anti-OHV report called - "Roaring from the Past: ORVs
on America's National Forests."

These publications, once again, show how serious the greens are about
imposing a "functional ban" on public lands of OHV use.

You can see some of the new Road-RIPorter at:

http://www.wildlands.org/WildCPR

where you can also download the new report... "Roaring from
the Past...."

It's going to be a long year.

Checked out the website; unbelievable what these people
think they're doing. If they really want to protect the
"ecosystem" why don't they file their petitions against
the mining companies; logging companies; oh, and let's
not forget that petition against Mother Nature for those
eco-damaging forest fires. While they're intentions may be
noble enough, they need to stop pounding the drum long
enough to see the real picture. <shrug>

Sorry to vent,

Thanks Linda and Dave,
I almost wish I had not asked for the correction. :(
That is a very disturbing website.
I read their rhetoric, rights for all species?
What about human species? They will never get away
with all their plans to eliminate OHVs!
Also seems like they like it when
we post pictures of "stuck" vehicles, saying "Just what we deserve"

Keep up the good work people!

Hello Everyone,

In about three weeks; I will have a complete Dana 30 Front Axle Assembly
available from my Jeep. If anyone is interested in picking it up for a
spare, let me know. I'd also be willing to part it out if anyone is
interested in the parts. It has the factory 3.73:1 gearing, has always had
synthetic gear oil in it, and is in great condition (okay... there's a few
scratches on the bottom side of it <grin>)
If anyone is interested in it, let me know. I get a $500 deposit back from
Currie by shipping it to them, but I thought if anyone here needed it more;
I'd just sell it locally. If you are interested just respond via email.
Since I only need to send Currie the bare housing so they can tear off the
brackets; I'll have lots of good spare parts available for whoever wants
them.

try 4x4 Recyclers. youll have a better chance with AZ Trailwerks
though. the number is 602 254 1551. i asked them about gettig me an
input shaft for a T18 and they had one there and ready to go. i think i

Stu

I first though acording to the site I had posted that the area might have
been included in the Presidents monument area.. I was wrong. The only
information I can find at this time has to do with Cap replenishing the
water aquafer in the area. But I am not absolutely positive of this yet.. I
spent 10hrs last night on the internet searching..

Dave,

This signing happened earlier last month. I guess I am missing the point as
to why you are posting it to the group now.

Comments like "If they really want to protect the
"ecosystem" why don't they file their petitions against
the mining companies; logging companies;" is the whole reason our
sport is going to become extinct. If we plan on beating this thing then
it is going to take everyones help. The Logger, the Miner, the Rancher,
the 4X4er, the skier, the Snowboarder, the Hunter, the 4wheeler, the
Hiker everyone. People, this is what our opposition is doing. They are
all getting togather and slowly picking off one group at a time. So
lets all unite and help each other.

Subject: Dead Cherokee (HELP Needed!)

Okay all,

Here's your chance to play hero, and diagnose (and possibly even fix)
this ol' boy's dead 89 Cherokee. I recently went out to Saguaro Lake on
my own (bad form, old chap!) and killed the engine on a steep hillclimb.
I had to back it about 100 yards downhill to turn around, and even then
it would not start. It did finally start by digging the wheels out and
pointing downhill to bumpstart it. I had to do that several more times
that day, but it worked starting at least that way. Since then, I have
been unable to start it (the starter doesn't even click, although the
battery is good and the fuel pump pressurizes)

I was able to get it towed to my ex's house where she let me work in the
garage. I replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor, and it actually did
start for me. It started several more times during the afternoon, and I
thought I had it fixed. There was a new whistle that I hadn't heard
before, related to engine speed, not vacuum. Couldn't find it though.
Then I went back over to her house to play with my kids, and when I tried
starting it again, I got about a half-crank and then 'clunk' Again, I am
back to a non-starting issue.

So.......anybody got any ideas?
