Is it possible to make the bbs non-searchable by search engine bots? I just don't think we should have to make extra effort within our own group to hide personal info.

Since the group is closed until you get "approval" can search bots still get a hold of the information?

Interesting thought though. Could this be one reason why JU is so bogged down? (they are open if you are registered or not, for the most part)

It is non-searchable because it is closed... unless someone figures out how to make an search engine smart enough to register and provide a valid email address... I think we are safe.
