Was up fooling around near Sycamore Creek last weekend and stumbled upon a trail marked as FR160. Was signposted as an adopt a trail, maintained by Motorola 4 wheelers.
Anyways, couldn't follow it all the way, signposted closed from Nov 30 to June 30 for bald eagle breeding habitat.
Anyone know this trail and been able to run it all the way across the river ?
Does it have a name ?

When you say "cross the river" I assume you are referring to the Verde River to the west (there's no other river in the area except for the Salt River to the south :)). On that assumption, I think I know the trail you're talking about. I took it a long time ago by turning off US 87 to the north, on the east bank of the Verde River, drove north along the river for a few miles or so and then took a right up a trail that led to Sycamore Creek. I don't know that the trail actually crosses the Verde River (back to the west) at any point (I don't have a map of the area). It was a mildly challenging (fun) trail, at points, for my stock (at the time) ZJ.

Yes, I was referring to the Verde river. The sign posted said it would be unable to cross the river, didn't go far past the sign.
I was actually looking for a way to get to Bartlett Lake from Sycamore Creek, is that possible ?

You can get to Bartlett if you go farther north on US 87. Go past the 4 Peaks turn-off a few miles and there will be a Sycamore sign. You leave US 87 to the west and the trail will take you right up to the lake. (3.5 to 4.0 rating, I think). You can't get to the the west side of the lake unless you want to cross the river (there is a spot just below the dam, but it was too deep when I was there).

Is that the name of it? I guess I embellished the difficulty level in my mind. There were a couple of cool spots, though.

Well - trail rating is kind of relative. My 3+ is like a 3.5. I use +/- instead of those funky non whole numbers :o)

You would have been on the Rocker Panel Pass Trail. The Moto Dust Devils adopted the trail years ago.

Beeline to Bartlett Lake (FR 98)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trail Rating: 3.0+ Location: SR-87 Granite Mnt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leaves the Beeline Hwy (SR 87) at the Sycamore Creek crossing and heads west toward Bartlett Lake on FR 98. The first part of the trail is up a rocky creek bed with a few obstacles that would challenge a stock vehicle. After the creek bed it is pretty much hard packed sand. The trails intersects FR 393 and privdes a very scenic view of the lake before heading down to the lake and to the powerline road. The powerline road comes to the Verde River, which can normally be crossed north of Rio Verde Road.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to get there:
Follow Beeline Hwy north to the Sycamore Creek corssing (market unknown at this time - will be updated later). Head west on the dirt road. At some point there is a junction - take the right fork. There should be a barbed wire gate - don;t forget to close it. Near the lake, take the left fork to head up the powerline road. Follow until you reach the Verde River

"market unknown at this time - will be updated later). "
Between MM212 and MM213.If you are traveling from Phoenix, there is crossover just past the bridge.Make the u-turn,then right turn before the bridge.
I went ther in search of this geo-cache:

Ive been 'down' Rocker Panel Pass from the top but never attempted it from the bottom up (no locker, wheel alone mostly) its definately some fun. Just gotta get the 'its gonna suck to dent the jeep' attitude out of the way. Almost every spot on the 50yrd or so stetch of 4.0 trail will give you plenty of opportunity to leave paint and or sheet metal. Sot its not much easier either direction. I usually have a bit of a challenge coming down the last obstacle (or first if youre goin up). It has a good appitite for diffs and diff covers.

We just ran Beeline to Bartlett last month ( http://www.azvjc.org/oldsite/Trips/View.asp?T=1481 ). It was a fun trip. Ther rocky part wasn't too bad but gave some of the stock height rigs a tough time. The rest of the trail across the ridge (hunted the geocache but failed to find it - planted a Jeep TB there anyway) was a breeze. The river crossing looked daunting at first, but wasn't hard at all as the water level was only 12"-18" or so.
It's a really fun trail and I plan on doing it again soon.
A few links to pics folks took on the trip...
