Subject: TJ Rear Track Bar
Good news for those w/ TJ's running a CV driveshaft. Teraflex has just come out with an adjustable (and flexible) rear track bar. Just came in...havn't installed it yet, but it looks very well built. It has a teraflex style arm attached to a solid steel bar. It's designed to eliminate track bar binding when a pinion is pointed up (axle rotated back). In this situation, the stock track bar gets twisted pretty good, and gets under load...kind of acting like a torsion bar...which can cause the right rear to bind up. Joe West got one too, and we'll be putting them in this week end, and will do a product report to the group. We got one of the first ones off the line.
They are also supposed to be bent to clear Tomkin skids w/ Dana 44 axles. We'll see.

NP231, NVG231, and NV231 are all the same thing. Only the name tag has
changed.
There is a 23 spline version that is used with the AX-15, and a 21
spline that is used with the AX-5 and the BA 10/5. A '97 will have an
AX-15 and 23 spline input shaft.

Actually, the older NP231 usually has a longer tail shaft, but otherwise
it's identicle. If it's out of a 97, then you'd be getting a NV231, which
has a shorter tailshaft ....which is better, IMO, as it allows for a
slightly longer driveshaft.
As David mentioned, there is a input spline difference, but since your is
already on the tranny, that should not be a concern.

"Need more signs to keep the park pristine."
"Escalators would help on steep uphill areas of the hiking trails."
"More families would enjoy the parks and city children could learn more
about nature if the Parks Department would provide services that include
arcades, water slides and child care."
"A big hotel with a golf course and even a convention center would
attract more people to this natural beauty."
"Instead of a permit system or fees, the Forest Service needs to reduce
worldwide population growth to limit the number of visitors to the
wilderness."
"Trails need to be wider so people can walk while holding hands."
"All the mile markers are missing this year."
"We found a smoldering cigarette left by a horse."
"Many trails need to be reconstructed. Please avoid building ones that

"Too many bugs and leeches and spider webs. Please spray wilderness

"Please pave the trails so they can be plowed of snow in the winter."

I did a write up several months ago about the El Oso mine road. It runs the
ridge north of 4 Peaks. The El Oso Mine Rd takes off to the right from the
main trail, and drops down to the mine. There are some building remnants
there and some tailings that are fun to poke around. The trail itself is not
well traveled, and is a class 3.
If you go to the list serve, you should be able to find it. If not, shoot me
a note, and I can provide more info. It is an all day run, BTW.

Subject: Parker Update
Hi All.
I have finally gotten a human to answer the phone at the La Paz County
Park and here is the deal on camping. The RV sites with hookups are full for
the season. This is a bummer but there is good news. The dry camping space
is plentifull and allthough I was previously told that they did not take
resevations there is a loophole.
The large grassy area in the center of the park is considered a "group area"
and can be reserved. I have sent the park administrator the required letter
to reserve this for us. As many of you will recall this area is plenty big
and in a generally convienient location. I hope the lack of water and
electric hookups won't disapoint too many of you with RVs but at least we
will be all together. Toilet and shower houses are close by and you don't
hear the jetboats all night long from here. Large grills are in the group
area for cooking. The Fee per night is $10.00. per vehicle (excluding towed
vehicles).
The Tucson contingent (about 6 rigs) will be meeting at the corner of
Orange Grove Rd. and Interstate 10 at noon on the fourth to make the run to
Parker. We'll see the rest of you there.
If you arrive at the Park first just tell them you are with the "WildCat
River Run" in the group area.

I know we've been a little touchy about

The following views are actually suggestions and comments that have been
received by the National Forest Service from visitors to our nation's
parks.
Please avoid building ones that
go uphill."
"Too many bugs and leeches and spider webs. Please spray wilderness
areas to rid them of these pests."
"Please pave the trails so they can be plowed of snow in the winter."
"Chair lifts need to be in some places so that we can get to the
wonderful views without having to hike to them."
"The coyotes made too much noise last night and kept me
awake. Please eradicate these annoying animals."
"It would be nice to have the Kodak scenic markers so we could identify
the photographic sites."
"I like all the trees but you need to plant some flowers. Flower
gardens would be so pretty in the forest."
"The giant trees are spectacular but there are too many of the same
kind; you should plant different types, for variety."
"Reflectors need to be placed on the trees every 50 feet so peoplecould
hike at night with flashlights."
"You should have a petting zoo here so that the children
could touch the squirrels, deer and bears."
"I was stung by a bee; you should have warning signs."
"A McDonald's would be a nice sight at the trailhead."
"The places where trails do not exist are not well marked."
"Too many rocks on the mountains."
"A deer came into my camp and stole my bag of chips. Is there away I can
get reimbursed: Please call . . . . ."

Got Friday off and am looking for trails near the 4

directions) and not in the "coves" area. I'm looking
for a trail ride not just playing on the hills.
Thanks
