What happened to the Sandbox?

Actually... it was too much of a magnet for trouble. I should have never created it because something similar to it exists on JU and it is a true, no holes barred, slam-fest... not exactly what I had in mind when I created it.

As always the case with sandboxes, the cat will poop in it. Too bad.

I was looking forward to watching the trouble develop locally, i.e. "I stack rocks and what are you going to do about it!".

Post a Poll. The sandbox was the first thing I looked for. Of course it will be nasty....Sandboxes are by nature. Of course there will be flame wars. Better there than in a "normal" forum. Post a disclaimer that the contents are not appropriate for all audiences or some such nonsence and let the !#$!$# Roll:D

yup and thats why it went away. We do not want that on this family oriented club board. There are enough of those type of forums out there that we do not need one too.

There already is a poll and the sandbox is losing by a wide margin. I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Actually... he isn't...

The problem with the sandbox is that it really was never meant to be a place where people could poke at each other (or anyone) for fun... it was meant to be a place to move posts which slid into emotional debates. If I can figure out how to limit posting access to the sandbox to only those people who have had their posts moved there... I will create it again and it will serve the purpose it was intended.

If people just want a place to play... I would prefer that they find other places to do it.

I spent a great deal of time deleting posts which some infantile minds thought were funny... I don't have this kind of time to waste so the sandbox was deleted.

There are many MANY places on the web where people can be as obnoxious as they wish... the azvjc bbs will not be one of them.
