Hello All,Don Whitehead is leading a Terminator (Upper) trail run on Saturday, December 20, 2003.

When: 9:00 AM
Where: Same air down spot
Rating: 4.0+
Length: 4 hrs
CB Channel: 4
Going to try Terminator again. Last time it was pretty crowded so lets try again.
Upper Terminator can best be described as:
Rocks, waterfalls, off-camber spots and more rocks! Big Rocks.
Whereas there are several by-passes, even the by-passes have taken it's toll on sheet medal and paint.
This trail definitely requires full hard lockers in front and rear, lots of clearance, aggressive tires 33" or larger and an experienced driver.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

As mentioned, wipe it clean and check it tomorrow to see if it's
still leaking. If so, it's probably only going to get worse over time
and you may as well reseal it now, imo.
FWIW, I just installed a rock ring on my rear diff. Removed all the
bolts and didn't lose a drop of fluid. Then again, I tend to be very
liberal with the sealant when I change diff gaskets :)

I put on an Avalance rock ring, which replaces all the bolts with
counter-sunk ones, and had no problems with it leaking.
You can just take out the bolts one by one and put a little rtv in
the hole. No need to completly take it off and scrape it. Unless
you need to change the gear oil anyway.

First off it looks like Frank and Cheech are ok
I got a call from Frank this morning at 7:50, he was taking Cheech to
school and some guy ran the stop sign at Sarival and Olive, frank
swerved to miss him, but clipped the front of the car and the jeep
rolled several times. when i got there the emt's where putting neck
braces on and soon had them in the ambulance and en route to
hospital. I talked to frank a little and he seems ok, but a little
sore, same with cheech they just took them to the hospital to make
sure everything is ok... i'm pretty sure the jeep is totaled, the
rear axle is bent and both roof supports in the rear are trashed. i
took some pics ill try to put em up later. heres the kicker, the exo
was worked on i guess sunday so it came up over the top and I truly
believe it saved there lives. thanks jason and whoever else worked on
it great job!!!!!!
If you don't know frank he is the type of guy that will do anything
for anybody. he has been involved with fundraisors and helping others
for as long as I have know him (he was one of the organizers of the
sharky run/fund) I am sure he would appreciate any prayers/ good
thougts or anything else we can do.

Matt,
I think you misunderstood me. I said that I do NOT want to
go the Autozone/Checker route. I don't care about the lifetime
warranty. I prefer reliability. I don't want to worry about
my starter crapping out when I'm out in the middle of nowhere.
You always hear how the lifetime warranties tend to get used
more than once a lifetime. This may not be an accurate assessment
but I've heard it enough to believe it so it's reality to me.
I've heard good things about the Mean Green starters but that's
mostly regarding their torque output (which seems to be a good
thing when you start your Jeep in gear from time to time). But,
since I don't personally know anyone that uses them, I was looking
for some input on their reliability which none of the reviews I've
read comment on.

Wouldn't it be simpler just to hit the <delete> key? There's been enough
of it recently that most of us should know - when you see a GEO-S**TTY
link it's going to be crap. Especially if it's all by itself in the

I had a MG starter on my 350 SBC in my 61 CJ-5 for several years. I abused
it regularly by using it to start uphill in gear, crawl over rocks with
it, and so on. It eventually wore out (the starter gear wouldn't engage
the flywheel and it was drawing *way* too much current), but it lasted a
*whole* lot longer than any standard starter I ever had on the Jeep. I
replaced the MG starter with a Chevy hi-torque starter, which also works
really well for me - so well, in fact, that I bought one for my van (91
1-ton; 454 V8).

I think it was Mike Anderson who was looking for some rubi tires. I stopped
in at 4 wheeler's supply today and they had a set of 4 on the rack out
front. I didn't ask about the price.

Matt,
I think you misunderstood me.
