Hey,

Great BBQ, first time at a club meeting this large, had a great time.
Met some very nice folks and was able to get some good tips. The ramp
was cool and so was the snowman with the Grinch music, my kids loved
that! Thanks for Hunter Offroad for having it at his place.

Just left the BBQ just wanted to say thanks to all who helped put it
together. We had a good time. FYI we left early in the stock green TJ
because my girlfriends daughter had to be at a recital by 5:45, well
there ready, time to go. Wish we could have stayed longer.

You need to spread the larger 2 gears apart using a peice of all
thread and 2 nuts. Put the all tread in where you took out the pin,
screw on the 2 nuts and put pressure on the gears . the smaller ones
should come out.

Hello All,
Jeff Titus lead a trail run Saturday, December 6, 2003 across Ajax (Lower)

Was a great day (no wind) Just the right amount of Az sun. Great bunch of people to wheel with. We had a couple of newbees with us. It was fun watching them do the trail and not believe that their jeeps could do the stuff it was doin. They talked all day on the list of things that were going to do to there riggs. You all know what I'm talkin about (bin there done that).Only had minor damage. Jim Sanford some how got the side of his windshield and Nick got his fender flare in the back a little on his new Rubicon. The biggest problem we had is the trip leader(me)had a blow out of my pants at the crotch and I had no trail fixins for that so I had to do the rest of the run sportin a new look. :o) Thanks to Brandon for the pics on the run they look great. Thanks to Jeff and Katrina Titus for a great time for this Toys for Tots run. Hope to be bigger next year! Later, Steve J
Hello All,
Jeff Titus lead a trail run Saturday, December 6, 2003 across Highway to Hell

Kevin Shaver and Vincent Ercolani showed up before we left camp so they joined right in and we all (6 rigs) took out for the trail. 3 of the group were virgin to H2H so it was fun to see them get through it.

The XJ driven by James did VERY well----no broken glass! he was running 32's and LSD. his spotter, Chris was right on the whole way.

Kevin did all the hard lines with his dynatrac 60's YJ.....well done TEAM YJ :)

Vincent blew a brand new BFG right off the bat and he stuck his foot in the hole it was so big. he thrwe on the spare and was good to go.

Eddie taco'd his tie-rod and we sleeved it....now stronger than the stock TJ for sure.

Mark had his front driveshaft slip out on the undercut waterfall and twisted the splines. he ground them down and was back on the trail. nice fix Mark!

Vincent's roobeecon tried to kill me when I was kindly wrapping his winch cable------jeep took to rolling downhill with me in front scramblin fer my life :) TEAM TJ trying to take out the opposition!

We got out pretty late---sun setting and Vince calls on the radio-----his tie-rod dropped off. the bolt sheared off, so we welded it back on and headed for the pavement. rolled in after dark......

Greatest weather EVER, just the right temp with no wind and sun all day. large moon at dark and just an AWESOME wheelin day.

Thanks guys /gals for the great trip! and thanks to Jeff and Katrina Titus for the well organized Toys-for-Tots gig :)
I wish I could've brought the CJ-5 as I would've won the CJ-5 ramp

Big thanks to John for hosting this and to all whose hard work put

I have a 98, the amp wont work with your sub, it really isnt that powerful
anyway. Your choices would be to splice into your speaker output wires and
take that the the high side inputs of your new amp -or- do what I am in the
process of doing, I got an aftermarket AM/FM/CASSETTE/CD-MP3 deck to replace my
Infinity. It has the RCA amp outputs. If you want to continue to use your
steering wheel radio controls make sure you buy a unit that has an IR remote,
then you can buy this neat little device from Crutchfield for abour $60 so
your steering wheel controls still work. The nice thing about the aftermarket
unit is I can now play MP3s that I make at home :-)

The head for a 4.2 is narrower than a 4.0, so you would have to do
some coolling passage work to put the 4.2 head on a 4.0.

The real question is why would you want to? The 4.2 head is a POS
when it comes to making power. The reason the 4.0 makes so much more
HP and torque than the 4.2 is the head.

Best thing to do is pick up the FI stuff for a HO and use that to
covert your 88 to FI. Then you will get the best of everything. If
you really want to run a carb, then Clifford makes 4 barrel manifold
for the 4.0 Head.

The possibilities are many. With someone turning the steering wheel, look at the shaft which goes into the steering gear. Is it turning? Is is connected to the gear or is the "rag" joint failed? Is the output of the steering gear turning (i.e. is the pitman arm moving)? I so, what's the condition of the steering linkage connections? Is there so much play that it takes 2 turns on the steering wheel to turn the wheels?

My guess is:
1) rag joint is barely intact
2) steering gear is shot
3) linkage joints are shot

The 3rd gear gear has a tooth chipped would be my guess. Remove the drain
plug and inspect the fluid. Metal pieces/chunks are bad. Tiny tiny bit of
metal shavings ok after first fluid change.

After visting the stage coach depot and cave we had lunch at

Beautiful scenery and a fantastic group of jeepers! I beleive I
