Rob, not to rag on your XJ LOL but I think you want to keep it to a
3.5 max. 4.0 would tear the hell out of your XJ. I need to get out
also but deer hunting starts the 12th and I am going to Benson to
hunt (hopefully I'll get one the first weekend). Been itching for a
good 3.5 run. Lower Terminator? Thats always a good one but need
someone that knows the way and can lead. Been there once and had a
blast, very challenging. I've got pics you can check out Rob if you
want. Post it up and see if you can get someone to lead. I did it
with 30's, no locker and I think no lift or 3" lift. You might want
to shave that rear diff because I got hung up a few times on mine.
Anywho, I'll see if i can make it, all depends on the deer :o) Jeff

If I were you, one of the 1st orders of business that I would do, is get
downtown to the State Building (Tucson) and get you State Trust Land
permit. Many of the "club" runs transverse STL, and, as such, you need
the permit.

Yes................. until AZJVC as a group is a member of the ASA4WDC
or an associated group that carries a liability policy, you must have a
personal permit any time you traverse Arizona State Trust Lands. 9.5
million acres
ASA4WDC pays for a State Trust Rec Group permit for all it's affiliated
clubs............ also a $1,000,000.00 liability policy for all
members.
AzVJC could get a group permit but they must be able to prove existence
of a $1,000,000.00 liability policy.................
Personal permits are not expensive................. just difficult to
obtain.
$15.00 per individual
$20.00 per family (immediate.... mom, dad, kids.......... not parents,
cousins, brothers etc)

Probably a redundant question, probably stupid one as well, so call
me stupidly redundant, but here goes.
Do we need individual permits for the Toys for Tots Run Dec.6?
And on a side note: I was at Martinez Cabin last weekend and was
promptly chased out by one big swarm of angry bees'. A wheeler in
their ahead of me had the same thing happen to him. So BEE careful

Has anyone talked with them concerning the banner ads and how they
work the proceeds from that? The banner ads aren't "ungodly" and if
they help pay for web space that is a plus.
Another thing about their page is, if I was part of their club, I
would have no problem making that page my home page. I am thinking
if I think this way maybe some others would too and it might help
spread the word on certain key issues.
Just random thoughts.

We are looking for an "SUV" for my daughter. We found a couple that she
liked and called in for insurance quote today. One was a 1996 Grand Limited
the other was a 1998 Honda Passport (loaded, basically the same options as
the Grand, just a 6 instead of the V8). For a teenage girl the insurance on
the Grand was $1727/(6 months) the Honda was $657/(6 months).
So is it the Jeep thing or the V8 or both?

James,
I'm no expert (about anything really), but I would think the V8 might
have something to do with it(?), along with either the original price
of the vehicle or value? I have a 96 Grand Cherokee (V8 & 4WD) and a
94 Toyota PU (V6 & 4WD) and the cost of insurance is virtually the
same for each. Of course I am not a teenage girl either :).
I would hope that your insurance agent would be able to answer that
question for you. That appears to be pretty steep for the Jeep, at
that rate you'd just about have it paid for again in 2.5 to 3 years?
Good Luck,
Bob

Brad, most of the az_vcj runs are up north of us here in Tucson.

So BEE careful
everyone. don't want to damper the festivities...just want everyone
to know.
Thanks,
Ken

Good Luck,
Bob
