Matt, I would just go down and see Barry B. @ 4wheelers, their showroom is
full of seats and they will take care of you pricewise... I'm thinking I may
do that also for my new (to me) XJ...my factory seats lay back to far and
are not adjustable... anyone know of a good way to fix that?? I thought
about trying to attach more steel to the mechanism, but that would be
rigged! Maybe we could get a good deal on 4? I need to get clearance from
the tower first! Thx, Bob J

I'm finally going to replace my old, beat up, stock lowback CJ seats
and I'm looking for input on what to replace them with. Obviously I
want something with a high back and good lateral support. I'd like
to try and keep it under $500 for both seats, but don't mind
spending more for the right product. Reclining seats are typically
not an option in the CJ-5 (and that's fine) so I don't want to buy
recliners if I don't need them.

Any input greatly appreciated, especially if you can provide web
links and/or phone numbers.

Thanks in advance.

Howdy Gang..

Well, looks like it should be one heck of a feast.. Lookin' like this
will
be the best BBQ yet. Unfortunaly, as luck woudl have it, I have had a very
busy week and havent had much time to get to the computer. There alot of
you
that have emailed me in person, and I have tried to get back to everyone but
*i
know I am missin a few so I am hopeing this one covers all the ground..

I know I had a couple of folks offer to bring BBQ's..... If you want to
bring a grill, PLEASE do.. More girlls the better. Things wil lgo faster
and
everyone can enjoy themselves more.

Havent seen it, but I am sure they will show up.. TABLES will be a big
must.
Remember eveyrone to bring your folding chairs and camp tables so you have
a
place to eat and be comfy.

Ok this year, I want to try somehting new to help things go smoother. The
Shop and Parking lot will be closed off till 2:30 PM. If you still want to
come early, feel free to line up along the street and then everyone can
file
in.
If you are bringing BBQs's and want to set up, dropping off tables, or
want
to setup some kind of booth for well, anything.. I will be ready by 130 PM.

trying to set a bit of schedule so it wont be to chaotic in beginning

Ok Think that has it.. talk to everyone soon..

Ray,

Check your clutch linkage and adjustment, sounds like the clutch is not
disengaging all the way. If it looks OK then your clutch is bad.

Todd
www.desertfab.com

Drove up to Prescott today. When I got there I thought it was difficult to
shift gears, but it did shift.(really hard) On the way home I stopped at
the
circle jerk for a soda and some nuts and couldn't get it into reverse
afterward
to back out.(started to grind everytime I tried) Lucky, I was on an incline
and
rolled it backwards. Got all the way to 48th and the 101 and had to slow
down
for traffic. Came out of 5th ok but couldn't get it to down shift for
anything.
Pulled off the side of the road and then it started shifting again but still
very hard. Drove all the way to 59th on the access road and when I stopped
there it wouldn't go into gear any more. No noises or grinding except for
reverse. When I turn the motor off it changes gears. When I start it in
gear
with the clutch depressed it starts moving right away, however I do notice a
little difference when I depress the clutch, (feels like I am just ingaging
the
clutch, barely). By the time I got it home I wanted to shoot it and it was
dark
so I havent looked under it yet,not that I would know what to look for. I
think
it has something to do with the clutch linkage somewhere. Any other ideas?

Matt,

Another great (and local) option is Renegade. I don't have the contact
info handy, but can get it from a friend. A few guys I know have bought
seats from them for Jeeps and desert racers. They do a VERY nice job,
offer a lot of options and are very reasonable on price.

Todd McCullen at Desert Fab can also hook you up with them.

ps. Any update/luck getting a hold of Ariel for the 8.8? I never

University and Smith intersection is between McClintock and the 101,
almost halfway between the two on the north side of University.

The problem lies in the tolerances the axle company is given by the
auto manufacturer. My guess is that the spring perches, caster and
steering geometry can be off by up to 1-2 degrees and still be okay
with the stock suspension. Likewise with the points on the frame or
subframe that are used to locate the suspension. Those "errors" can
be magnified when non-OEM suspension parts are used.

Well, I've finally made it to Tucson. Not sure if any of you
remember me but I posted a month or so ago that I was coming to
Tucson (or coming back rather). What is the first thing that
happens? My Jeep gets broken into. Grrr. Oh well poop happens.
Anyway, I found an apartment. My furniture still isn't here though.
I don't even have internet hooked up yet, but I guess that should
change in the next few hours except for the fact that my cable modem
is in storage.

I haven't really kept up with the list for the past month since I've
been on the move. Is there anything going on this weekend or next
weekend? I know there were some people who emailed me that said to
email them when I got into town but that info is on my computer
that's in storage. Anyway, I guess it's good to be back. :/
