I would recommend that any bolt on reversal kit you buy, weld it all on. I
repair or redo at least one a month of these kits that are bolted on. The
kits are fine if you do not use it off-road.

I found that the bracket that conects the rear track bar to the axel is major cracked !! I'm thinking it can be welded back or, this one cut off, and another fashioned and replaced.

Anyone ?

While I agree John is the man to see, i would just toss the rear
trackbar, as you dont need it on a yj. (unless you have converted to
coils or something.) Take it off and see if you can even tell a
difference, I bet you can't other than a little more flex offroad.

Hello All,Jeff Titus is leading a Martinez Cabin trail run on Saturday, December 6, 2003.<br><br>When: Saturday December 6 2003
Where:
Rating: 2.5+
Length: All day
CB Channel: 8

This is the Second Annual AZVJC Toys For Tots toy collection (we hope to make this an annual event.) This year we are going to have it where we were supposed to have it last time, at the Jamboree campground. Actually, we'll be right at the gate entrance off of SR79. We won't be leading any runs or providing any food this time (sorry). All we ask is for a new unwapped gift. If anyone out there wants to lead a run,I need to know buy the 29th of NOV.I still need leaders as of 11-19-03 Thanks!!!<br>
We will also have a Toys For Tots drop off box at the BBQ for people who can not make the run.

Martinez Cabin is a wonderful trail for the "new" 4-wheeler with his stock vehicle and family.<br>
<br>
This trail will take you into Martinez Canyon which has to be one of the most beautiful canyons in the area, in league with Sedona red bluffs!! <br>
<br>
You can have lunch under the Cottonwood trees at the old homestead and you may explore the old mill.<br>
<br>
Stock vehicle, stock tires and novice drivers, this would be a wonderful trail for you!!<br>
<br>
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Hello All,Jeff Titus is leading a Jack Handle trail run on Saturday, December 6, 2003.<br><br>When: Start time around 8am
Where: TOYS FOR TOTS RUN
Rating: 3.5+
Length:
CB Channel: 8

This is one of the trails that we will be running on <br>
Dec.6th The Leader for this run will be Tom Jacobson.(Thanks Tom!)

Jack Handle is a nice but fairly short loop trail that has a number of challenging obstacles. It starts out in a fairly flat wash. It then winds around as the trail gets tighter and tighter.<br>
<br>
There are a few small waterfalls and many table sized boulders to navigate along the way, including a fairly narrow slot that you have to scramble up. This slot makes it a very tight squeeze for full size vehicles (and probably not advisable). The trail can be run in about 2 hours or so.<br>
<br>
The first guy to run this trail didn't see one boulder and ended up using his jack handle as a temporary tie rod to finish the trail so keep your eyes open along the way. When you think you at the end, the trail juts up out on the wash and gives you a view of the whole area. Then you are in for a few roller coasters and a steep drop back to where you started.<br>
<br>
This is not a trail to be tried unless you are an experienced 4-wheeler with a well equipped vehicle. High clearance and some traction devices are required. Water and your camera are a must.<br>

Length:

This is on of the trails that we will be doing for the TOYS FOR TOTS run. The leader for this run will be Robert Roger.(Thanks Robert!)

The Powerline Trail does a figure 8 as you travel along the powerline, up a off-camber hill and then back down to a grassy meadow and back up another slippery "switchback" trail.<br>
<br>
This trail is truly a challenge for the moderate 4-wheeler. Some type of locking device is recommended, as well as clearance and 31' tires. Totally stock vehicles and/or novice drivers are not recommended. This is an all day trip. Don't forget your lunch & water.<br>

This is one of the trails that we will be doing for the TOYS FOR TOTS run. The leader of this run will be <br>

Lower Ajax wash crosses and continues along portions of the road to the Ajax Mine. It is the typical "wash;" for the most part you cross over and around the rock obstacles. There are a few 2 - 4 ft. waterfalls or narrow rock areas to find your way over or through but there are several by-passes. The wash is set among the rolling hills below the Ajax Mine.<br>
<br>
This trail is fun and a challenge for the moderate 4-wheeler, although this trail is not for the inexperienced driver nor a stock vehicle.<br>
<br>
A rear Traction Device, and 31" + tires are required..<br>

You know what, you're right. The one time they did
reverse on me during breaking was a breaking test I
did when I installed rear disc brakes and I had too
much forward breaking. Ever since then I was paranoid
it would happen again until I installed the
anti-kickback shackels. But it never did.

I think all Jeep Wrangler models are 5-4.5. Backspacing changes by by
tire width, so, for example, if you have 5.5" backspacing on 15x7
wheels, look for the same for 17x7 wheels. I think for 33x12.50s you
will need to look at 4.5" backspacing to keep the tire scrub radius
intact.

Have you found a good source for reasonably priced 17" wheels? I have
been looking, but I haven't found much for 8-bolt wheels yet. It
seems that they are being made mostly in 5 and 6-bolt patterns.

Subject: Happy Thanksgiving !!!

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING, I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS, I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.
THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED - THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.

SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.

I GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.
I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.

I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE
SKY WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.

BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY, MAY YOUR TURKEY BE
PLUMP. MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP,

MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS.

MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING BE GREAT!!

Unsure if these will help or not, but below are coords of the
waypoint I took where we pulled Mookie's rig out of the creek (Datum
is WGS84)

N 33 43.942
W 111 31.153

We went in at the lower section at these approximate coords
(taken using topozone.com pointer)

N 33 45.35
W 111 29.93

Your trip directions sound like you'll be entering somewhere above
(SW) of where we did.

Hey, that's great news, Larry! Congratulations on being able to get home
for the holidays.

I also want to say "Thank You!" to you and all the other men and women in
Iraq who are doing their duty and serving their country. I'm proud of all
of you.

I'll second Scott's comments. Either John at Hunter Offroad, Todd at Desert
Fab, or the Guys at 4-Wheelers Supply COULD all do the weld job. But that bar
is pretty much useless. In fact, if you've lifted the Jeep, kept the rear
trackbar installed and not used a relocation bracket at the axle mount end, it's
only a matter of time before the bar pulls out of the stock mount (if you
wheel it). Ditch it and see what you think.

While I agree John is the man to see, i would just toss the rear
trackbar, as you dont need it on a yj. (unless you have converted to
coils or something.) Take it off and see if you can even tell a
difference, I bet you can't other than a little more flex offroad.
