Where:
Rating: 2.5+
Length: All day
CB Channel: 8
This is the Second Annual AZVJC Toys For Tots toy collection (we hope to make this an annual event.) This year we are going to have it where we were supposed to have it last time, at the Jamboree campground. Actually, we'll be right at the gate entrance off of SR79. We won't be leading any runs or providing any food this time (sorry). All we ask is for a new unwapped gift. If anyone out there wants to lead a run,I need to know buy the 29th of NOV.I still need leaders as of 11-19-03 Thanks!!!<br>
We will also have a Toys For Tots drop off box at the BBQ for people who can not make the run.
Martinez Cabin is a wonderful trail for the "new" 4-wheeler with his stock vehicle and family.<br>
<br>
This trail will take you into Martinez Canyon which has to be one of the most beautiful canyons in the area, in league with Sedona red bluffs!! <br>
<br>
You can have lunch under the Cottonwood trees at the old homestead and you may explore the old mill.<br>
<br>
Stock vehicle, stock tires and novice drivers, this would be a wonderful trail for you!!<br>
<br>

The Powerline Trail does a figure 8 as you travel along the powerline, up a off-camber hill and then back down to a grassy meadow and back up another slippery "switchback" trail.<br>
<br>
This trail is truly a challenge for the moderate 4-wheeler. Some type of locking device is recommended, as well as clearance and 31' tires. Totally stock vehicles and/or novice drivers are not recommended. This is an all day trip. Don't forget your lunch & water.<br>

This is one of the trails that we will be doing for the TOYS FOR TOTS run. The leader of this run will be <br>

Lower Ajax wash crosses and continues along portions of the road to the Ajax Mine. It is the typical "wash;" for the most part you cross over and around the rock obstacles. There are a few 2 - 4 ft. waterfalls or narrow rock areas to find your way over or through but there are several by-passes. The wash is set among the rolling hills below the Ajax Mine.<br>
<br>
This trail is fun and a challenge for the moderate 4-wheeler, although this trail is not for the inexperienced driver nor a stock vehicle.<br>
<br>
A rear Traction Device, and 31" + tires are required..<br>

Hi Rayne,
I installed a shackle reversal kit years ago and I
love it. Better on road handling and the off roading
is great. My best suggestion, however, is to get some
"anti-kickback" shackles. When you put the shackles in
the rear the Jeep will nose dive a little during
breaking. Nothing to worry about, it'll be like you
would experience in your car. The problem will be
occur during a hard "panic" breaking situation; hard
breaking may cause the shackles to invert and slam up
against the frame where they will stay until you jack
up the vehicle and apply allot of force with a crow
bar to get them back. This situation can also occur
during the extreme articulation of off roading. Not
fun, been there done that. The anti-kickback shackles
will alleviate that problem.
Good luck, you'll love the new ride. No more having to
keep a death grip on the steering when going over
nasty bumps or bad rail road tracks at highway speed.

I would recommend that any bolt on reversal kit you buy, weld it all on. I
repair or redo at least one a month of these kits that are bolted on. The
kits are fine if you do not use it off-road.

Dave, I would have to argue that a correctly done shackle reversal should
never get locked up due to heavy braking. If it does, the upper pivot is
either to far forward or back and or the shackles are of the wrong length.
The anit kickback shackles are a wonderful idea for wheeling though.
Articulation and the extra pressures caused by the rocks will push and pull
the springs past the point of no return. Many times resulting in a bent or
broken spring. The anit kickback shackles will often prevent this from
happening.

Martinez Cabin is a wonderful trail for the "new" 4-wheeler with his stock vehicle and family.<br>
<br>
This trail will take you into Martinez Canyon which has to be one of the most beautiful canyons in the area, in league with Sedona red bluffs!! <br>
<br>
You can have lunch under the Cottonwood trees at the old homestead and you may explore the old mill.<br>
<br>
Stock vehicle, stock tires and novice drivers, this would be a wonderful trail for you!!<br>
<br>

The Powerline Trail does a figure 8 as you travel along the powerline, up a off-camber hill and then back down to a grassy meadow and back up another slippery "switchback" trail.<br>
<br>
This trail is truly a challenge for the moderate 4-wheeler. Some type of locking device is recommended, as well as clearance and 31' tires. Totally stock vehicles and/or novice drivers are not recommended. This is an all day trip. Don't forget your lunch & water.<br>

<br>
This trail is fun and a challenge for the moderate 4-wheeler, although this trail is not for the inexperienced driver nor a stock vehicle.<br>

Subject: Re: Re: Shackle inversion kit?
Dave, I would have to argue that a correctly done shackle reversal should
never get locked up due to heavy braking. If it does, the upper pivot is
either to far forward or back and or the shackles are of the wrong length.
The anit kickback shackles are a wonderful idea for wheeling though.
Articulation and the extra pressures caused by the rocks will push and pull
the springs past the point of no return. Many times resulting in a bent or
broken spring. The anit kickback shackles will often prevent this from
happening.

So with that out of the way. How is everybody doing back home. I

someone being in a coma. Can't recall when or what for. I don't get
alot of time to play on the internet so I was wandering if someone
can let me know who it was and how they are doing now. I think that
it was because of an accident or something. Can you guys on the club
