Bob, that is what I think that I will have to do, but I was wondering
if there is another way, On the box, it says how to order another
key, but nothing about an extra lugnut.

I had a Geo Tracker (go ahead and laugh). It came with a spin-on lock
for the spare tire and the lock used the same key as the ignition. It
was a really neat idea. Does Jeep sell these as an aftermarket
accessory? It's worth checking into.

Most quality wheel locks come with paperwork to order extra locks
and keys with the identification number provided in the original set.

At least all my McGard set did.

Incorrect. On the 97s, there is no fuse. You have to swap the manual
tranny connector with the auto tranny connector.

Linda,
A long time ago, and I do mean a LONG time ago, Jeep used to have a
lock that fit over the lug nut, and locked into a "washer" that was
behind the lug nut (for the spare tire only - Duh). It used a key,
although it was not the ignition key. Have not seen any of these for
years and years.

And I've seen the locking lug nuts where you can purchase additional
keys, but not additional locking lug nuts. I'll have to check the
next time I'm in the stores.

He is talking about the 5th one for the spare tire.......If you still have
the packaging that came with the locks there should be a code on it for your
locks.......call the manufacturer and they can send you another lock more than
likely for that code, for a price of course :-)

Subject: [TR] Crown King from Lake Pleasant - Saturday, November 22, 2003 - Reminder

Hello All,mark current is leading a Crown King from Lake Pleasant trail run on Saturday, November 22, 2003.<br><br>When: sat-22 8:00am
Where: Meet at I-17 and Care Free HWY South East Side
Rating: 3.0-
Length: when through playing
CB Channel: 4

Bill Scheller will be leading this trip.

The Lake Pleasang to Crown King trail is a local favorite. On any given weekend, there will be numerous groups of four wheelers, ATV's and motorcycles heading to and from Crown King. It is a fun and scenic trail into the cooler pines of the Bradshaws. <a href="../Main/History.asp">This trail was the first trip ever done by AzVJC.</a>

The trail takes off from the Castle Hotsprings Rd and travels through the foot hills and up the side of the mountain, giving nice views of Lake Pleasant and the Valley. There are some tougher optional sections that can make it interesting.

The trail goes through the old ghost towns of Fort Misery and Oro Belle, both of which are remnants of the Mining era of the Bradshaw Mountains. All that remains now, are foundations and a few crumbling walls. Fort Misery makes a nice place to stop and eat lunch as the small creek usually has running water and there are trees to provide shade.

In the winter months, the trail from Fort Misery through Oro Belle to Crown King will often have snow and/or ice. In the summer, an early start is necessary to stay ahead of the rising temperatures.

Once on top of the mountain, the trail runs through the cool pines and into Crown King. In Crown King there are places to eat and have a drink, and a general store that sells some excellent fudge. The old Crown King Saloon was actually built in Oro Belle, and later hauled up (many years ago) to Crown King and rebuilt. In Oro Belle, the saloon was built into the side of the hill, so the upstairs were mainly accessable from the rear of the building (at ground level). The upstairs served as a place repose for women of ill fame.

There are campgrounds on top of the mountain near Crown King for those wishing to stay overnight. The fastest way down is via the main road which leads through Cleator and toward Bumble Bee. You can split off and go through Cordes Junction, which will get you to the Freeway quicker, or keep going strait and go through the little town of Bumble Bee.

Alternatively, you can take the Senator Highway toward Prescott or Mayer, this can be a very interesting trail during snow season. If you have the time, follow Towers Mountain rd through Crown King and up to the top of Towers Mountain, there are some excellent views and you can join back up with the Senator Highway afterward.

Have fun, remember to bring water and your camera.

Enjoy, and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Rick,

I've had the Discount people in Tucson order me several sets of the 20
locking lugs. They can be ordered with as many extra keys as you want,
provided you call in the order. The extra keys are cheaper if ordered with
the locks (instead of that postcard after). I got 3 keys for the lock set
for my f-150.

Hello All,Matt McKeon is leading a Sycamore Creek trail run on Saturday, November 29, 2003.<br><br>When: 9:00 AM
Where: Off Beeline highway. After you pass the Saguaro Lake turn off watch for the signs for the divided HWY to end. Immediately after the ½ mile warning sign there will be a cross over to get to the north side of the hwy. Follow the dirt road on the other side of south bound 87 until you see the signs for JEEPERS.
Rating: 3.5+
Length: ?
CB Channel:

I spent a weekend out at Sycamore Creek camping with some friends recently. I did not know this area very well and because of this I was limited in areas to drive my Jeep (I did find Widow maker). All of my friends were riding quads.<br>
<br>
We are planning another camping trip for the weekend after Thanksgiving 28th - 30th. I would like to get a group of Jeeper's out on Saturday to do a trail ride. I am hoping someone that knows the trail out in this area would like to lead the ride. I will have a GPS unit so if someone knows the waypoints we can find the trail head. Or if someone know how to get there all the better. <br>
<br>
If you would like to camp..... the more the merrier. If you are planning on camping please e-mail me directly (mckeonm@c...) to let me know so we can plan on a big enough site. We will be out there sometime friday late afternoon (3-5 PM). <br>

Hello All,Joe Kearney is leading a Jack Handle trail run on Sunday, November 23, 2003.<br><br>When: Leave trial head at 7:00am
Where: Box Canyon entrance off of hwy 79
Rating: 3.5+
Length: 4 hours
CB Channel: 4

I am going to do a fast run to Jack Handle. I just want to get out and wheel. I picked 7 am leave trail head because I have to get back home pretty early.<br>
I have ran this trail before but it was at night so if someone who knows the trail better wants to lead by all means please do but if not then I will.

Jack Handle is a nice but fairly short loop trail that has a number of challenging obstacles. It starts out in a fairly flat wash. It then winds around as the trail gets tighter and tighter.<br>
<br>
There are a few small waterfalls and many table sized boulders to navigate along the way, including a fairly narrow slot that you have to scramble up. This slot makes it a very tight squeeze for full size vehicles (and probably not advisable). The trail can be run in about 2 hours or so.<br>
<br>
The first guy to run this trail didn't see one boulder and ended up using his jack handle as a temporary tie rod to finish the trail so keep your eyes open along the way. When you think you at the end, the trail juts up out on the wash and gives you a view of the whole area. Then you are in for a few roller coasters and a steep drop back to where you started.<br>
<br>
This is not a trail to be tried unless you are an experienced 4-wheeler with a well equipped vehicle. High clearance and some traction devices are required. Water and your camera are a must.<br>
<br>

Cool! I will have to ride in the passenger seat to experience this
"shake". ;) Please?

Actually it could be several things. I would do a visual inspection make
sure all is tight. Then get a wheel balance. If that doesn't do it, the
problem could be and alignment and/or caster adjustment.

Hope this helps.

I'd hoped to help out this morning, but the wife's two sisters and
their kids were hit by a drunk driver last night and we were up
pretty late. Luckily, nobody was hurt bad but their car is totalled.
On a bright note, the drunk ******* that hit them is sure in for a
world of legal pain :)
