Could be beneficial or detrimental, depending on how you look at it.
On one hand, it could act as a deterent and make the would-be thief
walk away. On the other hand, it advertises the fact that you have a
kill switch, giving the would-be thief more information on what he
might need to look for to steal you rig.
Granted, by Sunday afternoon I'll know more about how the kill switch
operates and whether or not it's easily circumvented which may make
the detrimenta argument moot :)

I ultimately came to the conclusion that if you hide the kill switch REALLY well... the thief will NEVER be able to find it (you should see some of the places people have decided to put their switches, ingenious!) and therefore it would be a benefit to advertise the fact that if you are looking for a rig to steal; don't bother with this one.
Absolutely without exception... I'd rather have a potential thief see the sticker and decide not to bother with the rig than have them not know and go ahead and break into my rig, damaging it... only to find out they can't get it started. The key to the sticker being a good choice is the fact that you hide the switch very well... well enough that a thief, even if they are looking for one; can't find it.
I suspect that most thefts are ones of opportunity... and that the thief would much rather steal a rig that doesn't display a theft prevention sticker than one that does.
I purchased a bunch of these so if anyone wants one, they can pick one up at the workshop. I've you've been to a previous workshop and want one... you can pick it up any time. The only mandatory requirement is that you have a kill switch installed.
See everyone on Sunday!

Not that this would work on our Jeeps(newer ones anyway), but one
great place to hide the switch was right under their noses. In an
old Baja bug I had we wired it to the dimmer switch on the floor of
the bug, the high low beams were moved to the turn signal arm.

Just keep in mind the troubles we had with the '97 TJ at the last

For what it is worth, I have 50K+ miles on my TJ with the original
starter. My XJ had 120K+ when it was sold and it had the factory
starter too. In my opinion, a starter going out at 13K is not typical.
JoeyK drives on his starter so don't pay any attention to his comment

In an

No, no problem, except I don't want to have to be replacing a starter every
13,000 miles, especially when the warranty runs out.

Hi Dan,
I'd be happy to put a kit together for you and mail it to you... I'll try to take some pictures and email them so you can see what things should look like... I can't imagine it would cost more than a couple of bucks to mail the stuff... so plan on $23 complete out the door.

Joe,
I'm interested in doing a killswitch, but live all the way in Havasu.
Is there any way I could pay for the workshop and get the parts,
instructions, and a decal? And, of course, a list of these top secret
switch hiding places so I can do mine at leisure...

Just keep in mind the troubles we had with the '97 TJ at the last
install (hoodlock/kill switch). Isn't the fuse box a little
different on '97s? It may not be a problem with just a fuel pump
killswitch, but you never know.

James,
For what it is worth, I have 50K+ miles on my TJ with the original
starter. My XJ had 120K+ when it was sold and it had the factory
starter too. In my opinion, a starter going out at 13K is not typical.
JoeyK drives on his starter so don't pay any attention to his comment
that his went sooner! LOL
