Subject: [Kinda OT]Compressor test VIAIR 200A
We got to do a lab in one of my engineering classes that we designed. I
wanted to see how the efficency of my VIAIR 200A degraded with the
Temperature/Time it was run. You can see the preliminary results at:
http://members.cox.net/jetowle/combined.xls . This clearly shows the
compressor took more time to reach the same pressure, the temperature went
up as the tests progressed and the power consumption went up as the
temperature of the head went up.
The basic unit as tested was this:
http://members.cox.net/jetowle/DSC02196.JPG . This picture doesn't show
where the pressure transducer was connected, the temperature probe (it was
in the center of the head) and the current/power connections were made.
I thought some of you might be interested in the results.

PS - If anyone knows why the Test5 data isn't showing on the first graph,

Sorry for the short notice I'll try for a run on Table Mesa Road. This can be geared to novice if desired.
Upper Terminator can best be described as:
Rocks, waterfalls, off-camber spots and more rocks! Big Rocks.
Whereas there are several by-passes, even the by-passes have taken it's toll on sheet medal and paint.
This trail definitely requires full hard lockers in front and rear, lots of clearance, aggressive tires 33" or larger and an experienced driver.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Interesting test and data.
I case anyone else is wondering:
To fix the graph, change the data source for the y axis on test six
to: =Page1!$V$3:$V$781.
After inputting all those numbers James probably got Excel blindness
and inadvertently selected the same data source for test 5 and test
6. This will the combine them on the graph making it appear as one.

Thanks.... a bunch I fixed it.
The sensors that collected the data were hooked to DAQ (Data

was collected automatically and put into files.
I still had to combine it. I must have got confused someplace.

Trip on December 13 - El Camino del Diablo
I just talked to a young lady in Ajo who is going to send me
my permit information. She told me that if we were going through Ajo on
Saturday morning, December 13, she would open up the office and help
out in anyway she could. Her name is Margot. The phone
number for permits is: (520) 387-6483. It is fun to talk to someone that
is so entheastic about their job. Her offer may not be necessary, but
it is greatly appreciated.

PS - If anyone knows why the Test5 data isn't showing on the first graph,
please fill me in. It is probably one of MS's undocumented features, if I
didn't screw something up.

James,
Interesting test and data.
