Well, I have been out of town for the at week up at the SEMA show. While I
was up there I got a call Weds. morning and Mesa PD had found my Big Red
sitting around Broadway and Stapley. I havent seen it yet in person, but so far the
truck looks more or less undamged. All of my tools and alot of my camping
gear, 4x4 stuff, and other gear was gone. Broken door handle (how they broke
in) and a broken iginiton switch sounds like all the damge. , It was towed to
my Dad's house where he gaveme the best description he could. Monday, I will
meet with the insurance agent and see what happens. Cross your fingers..
But wanted to pass on the good news... I was very fortunate and lucky,
Want to thank everyone for the thoughts and concerns. I appricated it and did
help. Ill keep everyone posted on what happens with the insurance.
Thanks again, and best regards

Subject: WTT: 700W amp for other audio...
I finally found my amp I had that I used in my old truck. Well, 700
watts is a little much for the Jeep. I was hoping someone would like
to trade.
All I know about this amp is that it is 700Watts, the brand is
Coustic and I used to push 2 JL12's with it very nicely. Feel free
to come look at it if interested or I can possibly meet part way.
I would like to trade this for something.
A few interests would include, but are not limited to:
1 or 2 smaller amps (75-150W)
CD player with detachable face (prefer XM ready, but not picky)
Decent aftermarket speakers for TJ dash
Will also consider ANYTHING for a TJ!
I am not worried about it being an "even" trade. Price value means
nothing to me if you have something I want.
Best way to contact me is through e-mail.
Thanks a ton,

John,
If your vehicle insurance doesn't cover your tools, camp gear, and
other items in the truck when it was stolen, your home owners might?

I met someone yesterday with a Jeep and mentioned AZVJC to them. They
asked for a card and I didn't have one so I had to fumble around to
find some paper and a pen to write the address down for them. I NEED
CARDS!
I'm going to have some general AZVJC cards printed that simply show
the logo, URL and a brief description of what we are so I can hand
them out when I see Jeep people here in town who are interested. Two
questions:
1) Does anyone have a high resolution AZVJC logo I can use for
printing
2) Is anyone else interested in joining in to buy a handful of cards
(cheap)?
As many of you know, sometimes an extra 500 cards or so costs very
little money so the more people who are interested, the cheaper it
becomes for everyone interested.

I have a 4.0 5 speed and Sunday was the first time I took my jeep on a
trail since I have had it out of the shop> we did H2H and it ran and
worked great on the trail. After we finished we were heading out and the
jeep started to cough, backfire lose power where it would only go about
2 mph if that, still coughing backfire etc then no power. I let it sit
for a couple min it would start right up move but same thing happened.
We finally towed it to the cottonwood entrance. I started it back up no
problem had power etc. so I had a friend follow me back to Gilbert drove
fine 60 mph THEN on Arizona farm road we hit railroad tracks which was a
large bump then jeep started same thing coughing, choking and backfiring
and losing power. Well to make a long story short let it sit few minutes
then started back up and was fine all the way home. HELP I have not a
clue what happened. When I drove it on street and highway a few week
before I did H2H no problem and I drove hundreds of miles only after the
trail did this problem evolve. Any suggestions please on what does the
group think happened. I have a custom gas tank with new fuel pump which
is located at the top of the new tank for easy access and so I do not
have to drop the tank if fuel pump problems are about the tank is the
only new mod to fuel line system. You can also e-mail me @

Subject: No clue Jeep problem Sunday
Sunday I took my jeep which is a 4.0 5speed out on the trail H2H
since I have had it out of the shop. I have put a few hundred miles
on jeep since then no problems but sunday on H2H it ran great until
we finished the trail and start heading out all of a sudden jeep
started losing power coughing backfire and dropped to barely 2 mile
per hr to no pwer let sit a couple it would fire right up start
going good then same problem. so we towed it out to cottonwood
entrance and then I started it up low and behold no problem so I
made desision to drive it back to Gilbert and a friend followed me.
we went back way down arizona fram road drove great at 60 mph until
I went over railrod crossing which made a large bump the all of a
sudden loss of power choking and backfire spitting etc. pulled over
let set a started up and drove great rest of way home. The only mod
made to fuel system was a new mod gas tank with a new fuel pump
placed on top of tank for easy access so I would not have to drop
tank to get at the pump. like I said it has been driving on the
street and on a 200mile trip NO problem. Any clues also e-mail me @

There is Phoenix Welding Supply on Baseline, about two blocks west of Mesa

know for sure in the gilbert area.. I think there is a Praxair some where
around Warner and Arizona... Ok might wanna check the yellow pages... Been a
few years since I have bought down there.
Good luck..

Earlier this year, after talking with many people and surveying from
the air, I led a group on the sandy beach trail.
The first 3miles are very easy. The next mile is really really really
nasty. Because the other members of the group did not want to go
further, I (78CJ7 4" lift,33x12.5 BFG's+f+r lockers) only the first
20-30 yards; it took about 30 minutes + broken shackle + lots of
stacking+ body damage to get back out.
I would love to lead another groop (challange/hint hint) but required
equipment would be:
minumum 33x125, 35+ (33's=lot of body damage probable)
Front and rear lockers
winch + hooks
strong back (rocks are heavy)

Thanks,

I have a 4.0 5 speed and Sunday was the first time I took my jeep on a

worked great on the trail. After we finished we were heading out and the
jeep started to cough, backfire lose power where it would only go about
2 mph if that, still coughing backfire etc then no power. I let it sit

20-30 yards; it took about 30 minutes + broken shackle + lots of
stacking+ body damage to get back out.
I would love to lead another groop (challange/hint hint) but required
equipment would be:
minumum 33x125, 35+ (33's=lot of body damage probable)
Front and rear lockers
winch + hooks
strong back (rocks are heavy)
Call if interested
