Nope, no lockers...but I've got 2 cup holders! LOL Oh, and some muffler bearings and elbow grease.

The other two are probably well beyond a stock Jeep, need bigger
tires and lower gears with lockers.
Mostly I am just trying to see if we are indeed gonna do this or if
anyone is even planning it.

It's all stock except for the 31s. It's a 97 TJ 4.0. I'm sure
there will be a lot of damage, but hopefully there will be some
spares on the trail!

Well, OK, but if the Land Rover guys and the Hummer guys bust out into a
Sharks vs Jets song and dance number I am the heck outa there.
Let's not get TOO bold on this thing though, I have seen Marine-trained
Hummer drivers that con do some pretty amazing things in an H1 (of
course they didn't have to pay for the depot level maintenance either).
H2s can bring it all they want.
Call it the "Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine Challenge". Oh, that
won't work the Land Rover guys might misinterperate that.
OK, how about the "You Suck, and Jeeps Rule All Challenge."
Not sure why I didn't get that job in the Marketing Dept.
"Anaconda Challenge?"

Hello All,Joe Bornkessel is leading a Terminator (Upper) trail run on Sunday, November 9, 2003.

When: Meet 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning, depart at 7:45 a.m.
Where: Table Mesa Rd. west side, air down spot.
Rating: 4.0+
Length: 5-6 hours
CB Channel: 4
Planning to run Judgement Day then Upper Terminator, could vary depending on the wishes of others.
Upper Terminator can best be described as:
Rocks, waterfalls, off-camber spots and more rocks! Big Rocks.
Whereas there are several by-passes, even the by-passes have taken it's toll on sheet medal and paint.
This trail definitely requires full hard lockers in front and rear, lots of clearance, aggressive tires 33" or larger and an experienced driver.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

There's probably a Hummer club in town that we should contact if it's going
to be a larger event like that.
Anyway it happens, I'm interested in watching. Barring schedule conflicts,
we'll be there!

Subject: Need help with a heater/air problem
I have a 98 TJ with the 4.0 and am having trouble with the heater/air
controls. The fan speed and the hot/cold functions seem to work fine,
but the control to direct the air does not work. The air always is
directed to the defrost location. Any help or ideas of where to start
would be greatly appreciated.

I would be willing to bet that the inside of the plastic knob is broken and
spinning on the metal shaft.
Pull the knob off and have a look, I think they are about 6-7 bucks at the
stealerships.
Happened to my 99 and I have seen numerous reports about it on this board.

found out my sinkhole problem. Ends up being old tree roots. I found
around 20 of them so far that run straight to the house and right
down the walls. They are totally empty except for the skin of the
root. So its a perfect tunnel for water. So now I really have to dig
everything up or its gonna keep doing it. I still need to find out
where the water is going? I'm down to about 4 feet so far and still
need to go another 8 or so feet plus the lenght of the bedroom wall
that is affected. I'll keep you all posted and if you dont hear back

Just want to add something. You need a permit to use the ISDRA. There
was information about the permit costs in the latest ASA (American

I have a 98 TJ with the 4.0 and am having trouble with the heater/air
controls. The fan speed and the hot/cold functions seem to work fine,
but the control to direct the air does not work. The air always is
directed to the defrost location. Any help or ideas of where to start
would be greatly appreciated.

I would be willing to bet that the inside of the plastic knob is broken and
spinning on the metal shaft.
Pull the knob off and have a look, I think they are about 6-7 bucks at the
stealerships.
Happened to my 99 and I have seen numerous reports about it on this board.

That actaully looks like a get familar with the hummer type run.
probably rich folk that just bought them and never been offroad. Also
probably a hummer sponsered event! Anywho, I drove a military model
for 9 years and was also an instructor and they do do pretty good,
just not as good as a built up Jeep. Now the civilian model is a
totally diff story Jeff CamoXJ--- In

found out my sinkhole problem.
I'll keep you all posted and if you dont hear back
from me in a week or so come pull me out :o) Jeff CamoXJ--- In
