Subject: D35 axle help

Hi, first off, my prayers definetly go out to Sharky and his family...
While on the trip yesterday, I started getting a strange noise coming from my
driver's side rear axle. It started just before we pulled into CK and is getting
worse. I have a 97 TJ with a D35 in the rear, running 33s and a 4" lift. The
noise at first sounded like a hollow popping sound, almost plastic sounding.
After taking a look underneath, nothing looked out of sorts. I soon found that
the sound goes away when I'm putting a load on the axle, either accelerating
or decelerating so the trip on the freeway was nice and quiet on the uphill
parts but got noisy on the flat level bits. Any ideas, or has anybody run into the
same problem? I was thinking maybe the axle bearing, but I'm not totally
convinced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA, MIke

To all,

My wife Jannelle is over at Sharky's, she is watching the kids and
taking the calls. Another member (Matt) has driven Stacy back to
the hospital.

From what I have been told Sharky hit something (manhole) that
caused his Jeep to go end over end. I too am interested as to what
is happening with his Jeep, I do know it is due back to his house
today, if anyone has information on when could they please pass it
on.

Keep up the prayers, please.

see there was a guy in his room working on him, he is on a breathing
machine, still listed "critical".

I just spoke with my wife and Stacy does not mind any information
given out so I will tell you what I know.

He is on a respirator due to very labored breathing, the part fo the
brain with the most trauma is inoperable and they are trying to
reattach his ear. At this time he has still not regained
consciouness. It is getting to a wait and see.

Thank you all for your help and support and keep the prayers coming.

Joe thanks for Spearheading the return of his Jeep, if you need
anyhelp I am sure many will lend a hand. I would love to be there
right now, but am in Colorado on business.

I am sending stacey the account info. Anyone who has ever known
anyone that has experienced this type of tragedy knows how much they
are dealing with right now. I think Chris said his wife is watching

arrange for some other members of the group to help during the week

thanks george. There are a few donations in there right now including yours.
This is really one situation where having 1700 members is so good. If
everyone only gave a buck or two, it could pay a house payment or two while
he is out of work etc.. I will give an update on the fund to everyone this
