You will need the drop pitman arm if your drag link is at a steep angle and
you are experiencing bump steer.
The angle of the output shaft on the transfercase and the pinion on you
rrear axle should match. If you are not vibrating then you should be close.
Keep an eye on the ujonts and carry spares. The extra angle means they will
travel through a larger range of motion, causing them to wear quicker and
weakening them under load.
Have fun.

When I first read about the Tomb Raider edition the article stated
that it would have 35 inch tires and a 4 inch lift. I saw one at
Moore and it was pretty standard other than some decor stuff. Like
John D. pointed out the crap magnet must have been on. After reading
Sandee's post which mentioned lift laws (height laws??) I can see why
DC went with standard fare.

I did not think you would be:-) It has the same fender flares as mine. Now
everybody can make fun of my "Tombraider" fender flares:-) I am not to
pleased with them myself. I have had a devil of a time trying to keep them
on the Jeep. Bushwhacker sent me a "fix it" kit and I did some mods of my

Hi John,
I had the same problem with some Warn flares... I ended up scrapping them
and putting the factory flares back on.
Purchasing the Warn flares was the single most expensive mistake I made in
building my Jeep... I bought a set, tore them to hell, replaced the set with
a new one... tore a couple to hell and finally took them off permanently.

[az_vjc] JP magazine.....
All,
At the risk of taking an unpopular stance... I don't believe it should
matter whether or not people to choose to drive their Jeeps only on the
street. Who cares if a Rubicon owner chooses to only drive their Rubicon on
asphalt? Who cares if they baby their Jeep and keep it polished, waxed, and
absolutely perfect?
Owning a Jeep isn't about trying to keep up with the "real" Jeep owners
("real" is usually defined by the writer as however they themselves use
their Jeep), but is rather, doing whatever you want to do with your Jeep...
independent of what anyone else thinks.
Rock crawlers might define "real" Jeep owners as those Jeepers who bash the
hell out of their rigs and don't care about any damage.
Campers might define "real" Jeep owners as those Jeepers who take their rig
offroad for camping and actually use 4wd some of the time.
Street Jeepers might define "real" as keeping their Jeeps totally stock and
in perfect factory condition and not subjecting it to any abuse at all.
The bottom line is; who cares how people use their Jeep? There is a
systemic attitude among some in our group that "If you don't Jeep like I do"
you aren't a real Jeeper. What a crock!
Here's what defines a real Jeeper:
If you own and drive a Jeep, you are a real Jeeper.
It doesn't matter if you built it, bought it, built and bought it, or
friggen stole the damn Jeep.
For those of you who never take your Jeep offroad... more power to you!
Don't let those in our group who whine about how you choose to use your rig
make you feel like you don't belong.

Joey,
This is something easy to do.... You should have no problems.
I'll give you the first step:
Step 1. DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND PLACE IT TO THE SIDE
WHERE IT CANNOT COME IN CONTACT WITH THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST.
Kind Regards,
Joe West

DC went with standard fare.

everybody can make fun of my "Tombraider" fender flares:-) I am not to

Hi John,
I had the same problem with some Warn flares...

Subject: Dana 44 balljoint question...
I'm about to swap a knuckle on my front Dana 44 and will be
installing new ball joints at the same time. I've purchased a
new set of Spicer ball joints. Does anyone know if these
things can be/need to be lubed before installing? If so, how?
There's no zerk fittings on them. Do I just peel back the
rubber seal?
TIA,
Roger

Subject: alternator questions
it seems as though my alternator is going out (tested at autozone). i have the service manual, so my question is- is it easy to replace with the manual and newbie-mechanical knowledge or should i take it to a shop?
TIA

Joey,
This is something easy to do.... You should have no problems.
I'll give you the first step:
Step 1. DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND PLACE IT TO THE SIDE
WHERE IT CANNOT COME IN CONTACT WITH THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST.
Kind Regards,
Joe West
