Nichole,

I do not believe you need to worry as you, IMO, do not fit the profile
that James described. Had I not met you before, I would still say that
solely based on your response. Everyone starts somewhere....and
wanting to learn is a good thing, both in driving skill and vehicle
maintenance. :)

As for your thong comment, close but not quite. I don't think that
putting it on that little Jack Russell of yours counts! LOL (but nice
try anyway!)

Subject: [az_vjc] Re: Damage on the trail

Okay, I need to add my .50 cents, because I am one of those jeepers
that needs help.

I understand all of the arguments you guys have made and (believe it
or not) I have had frustrations with being on a trail with another
jeeper that is not fit for the trail. In fact I have seen jeep and
driver that were not fit for the trail as well as the driver not
being fit no matter how well set up the jeep was.

I am no mechanic and do not know how to fix everything on my jeep. I
am slowly learning. I maintain it as best I can and if in doubt
about anything will stay at home. However, things do happen on the
trail and some things break without warning (hard trail or not) and
if this happens to me I will probably need help. Now, I do not like
people working on my jeep without my help (as some can vouch for) and
much prefer them to tell me what to do and they sit on the sidelines
and supervise. So does this mean I should only go on trails rated at
2 or below?? I certainly hope not. My jeep is capable of a lot and
probably more than I am at this point but I am mindful of that and
will make sure I talk with the troop leader to make sure.

So, my point is this: Because I don't know how to fix or
troubleshoot everything on my jeep and do not have every spare part
possible, does that mean I can't participate, given what I have
shared above?

I am not trying to argue so much as get everyones opinion since I
have a slightly different spin/point of view. I have asked this
question of many people I have wheeled with but would like to know
the general concensus on this.

~Nichole

p.s. I am however prepared with the thong if the need arises and all
else fails! lol

Just think of all the clearance you'll have over the rocks.

Seriously though, why not just switch to a SUA setup. Looks like that
would drop it down enough. Not as much axlewrap then either.

Chris,

I think I am going to put the stock YJ springs on tomorrow and see how it
looks. These are 3.5" springs.

If I got a flat tire by my self I would have more problems, I wouldn't be
able to get the thing in the back.

Does anyone know where I can buy a weld on Tee Nut to accept an

Sure you could. Just drop your windshield, run your winch cable up
over the roll cage and winch it right up into the bed. My narrow
track CJ-5 with SOA is tippy - not sure I'd want to be in that beast

I would love to run stock height shackles, but 4 Wheelers Supply
doesn't carry them (or so I am told) and I cannot run the junk that
was on it. :P

Redrill your existing shackles and cut them off.

Subject: NOHVCC Workshop...Not going to make it...

I removed my name as well as Jess' due to the "three members per
club" guideline. I was under the very strong impression that it was
important that we unite and make a consolidated showing here and now.
There were such urgent words on this board about the need for as many
of us to participate as possible, to unite, to stand together with
other enthusiasts (quads, hunters, other 4x4 clubs, etc.) and not to
just sit around assuming others would speak for us. We were to take
steps to make ourselves heard. I suppose we were just being too
loud.
