I didn't know that!! Thanks for mentioning the speedo positioning.
That's something I have totally forgot about.
Got another question: My old ZJ still needs the get the speedo
connected since the SYE, but the new sensors are 3-wire and my JGC is
a 2-wire and the new tailhousing uses the 3-wire sensor. Can you post
the wire color/function information for the 3-wire? I no longer have
the service manuals, but I want to help out the new owner (who is not
a computer savvy).
Thanks!

Any help would be appreciated in my search for parts.
The cheapest places etc. Again due to divorce I don't

doors with a few scratches.
I am even looking for rims and tires but that is a
lower priority since I have some tires and rims. I
have a 4 inch lift on it and used to have 33's under

the vehicle fell through. So anything size 31 or 33.
Again thanks for any help!!

Subject: Diesel Liberty?
I wanted to get your thoughts on the Liberty. We currently own a 2000
TJ. We want to get something a little better for family, quiter daily
drive etc. We were looking at the Saturn Vue (father-in-law discount
on GM products) but after a 24 hour test drive we really are not sure
its what we want. Combine that with the screwing we would get on the
TJ trade in...
So the Liberty looks like it could be a big contender. We will be
checking them out probably this weekend. I heard there was going to
be a Diesel liberty for 2004? any info on it?

"I also swapped a 97 ZJ 4 wheel disc proportioning valve and a 2000
WJ master cylinder and booster. It worked really well."
The above was part of the post from Scott Kruise. I think your answer
(Jason and Kristi) lies in doing a similar swap. But have you already
removed the little o-ring inside the stock YJ "proportioning valve"? If
not, try that...there's a write-up on Stu's website.
With stock D30 and 8.8 on my YJ, I have TONS of pedal travel. Brakes
have been bled multiple times, nothing but fluid comes out. Granted, my
MC could be original (16 yrs old) and shot. The brake pedal was nearly
the same before the 8.8 swap, too. I need to get around to the MC swap
and ZJ prop valve. Been putting it off cause the brakes work "good
enough"...could definitely be a lot better, though.
From what I've heard, the MC from an 80's (ie. 1986) Ford E-350 van
works really well.
Good Luck,
Tom

Hi Joe....I use my finger. After you have driven the vehicle a few
miles, so that the lube is stirred up, open the fill hole and put your
finger down in it. If it looks rather tannish/brown and foamy, it has
water in it. Of course, knowing what it looked like going in helps you
make a more informed decision when you are checking it.

Hi,
So, does this mean anytime I traverse water that's above the
hubs I need
to change the gear oil? Or, is this only when playing in the
mud?

Hi All:
I just wanted to thank Mike Anderson for giving me a hand this afternoon. I had some decals to put on and I actually watched as he did an awesome job putting them on for me. I'm the worst when it comes to decals I would've had them all crooked and sideways and upside down.
Thanks again Mike!
Happy Trails!!!

Again due to divorce I don't
have much money so they can be project items such as
doors with a few scratches.

I heard there was going to
be a Diesel liberty for 2004? any info on it?

doing this? Is it easy to just remove the shift level? If so how is
the best way to do it ?
Thanks alot!

Hey man, e-mail me. I don't have the doors or hardtop. However I am
trying to sell my white soft top and windows. If you are interested
I will let the setup go for a decent offer. Let me know, I am just
looking to get rid of this stuff. E-mail me and we can work
something out!

Okay everyone, the time is here... the time is now...
I am getting excited to play in the mud, but I have a few questions.
What does everyone do as far as waterproofing everything? What
should I worry about and what should I not worry about?
Also, does anyone else wheel without a top and full doors? All I
have is a bikini top and some soft half doors.
Finally, where is everyones favorite places to play when it rains??

Good Luck,
Tom

First off...remember if you mud you clean same day and
check for damage after your days play...mud seaps into
every crevice into the axle housings...etc...if the
water is over axle deep change your gear oil...clean
out disc brakes throughly...power wash in every
crevice...mud kills jeeps!...also make sure you only
mud in washes open to the public and dont tear up
existing roads....have fun!

Subject: Thanks!
Jake
