Any chance you have the calipers reversed (side to side)....if so, then
you bleed hole is on the lower part of the caliper and you have trapped
air that will never bleed out. It is a commonly made mistake, even by
people who know better (called a brain fart!)

Has anyone gone to a Waggie D44 and a F8.8 at the same time? My
question is: Does going to larger calipers require a larger master
cylinder? My problem is that I cannot get the brakes to pump-up during
the bleeding process. I have gone thru 2-pints of DOT3 and there is no
air coming out @ any of the slaves - just clean fluid and the pedals' to
the floor. I've bled brakes since I was ten years old and never seen
this before.
Thnx for any input!

old Crown King Saloon was actually built in Oro Belle, and later
hauled up (many years ago) to Crown King and rebuilt. In Oro Belle,
the saloon was built into the side of the hill, so the upstairs were
mainly accessable from the rear of the building (at ground level).
The upstairs served as a place repose for women of ill fame.

of Bumble Bee.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would like to let me borrow their TJ rear
flares for a little bit. I want to cut my rear fenders out the shape
of the rear flares. Unfortunately I already sold all my flares. I
just need a set to hold up there for a quick minute and trace a line

I will be quick, I can even trace my line in your driveway!

to me, "the Crown King exit off I-17" means the Bumble Bee exit north
of Black Canyon City. If you start there, that means you will be
coming DOWN the back way from Crown King TO Lake Pleasant. Most
people run the trail FROM Lake Pleasant TO Crown King probably
because it's more challenging to climb up the few obstacles than to
go down them. If you really want to go FROM Lake Pleasant TO Crown
King, then you'll start on Castle Hot Springs Road near Lake Pleasant
and you'll come out at the Bumble Bee exit off I-17.
But, since you haven't run this trail before, my suggestion is that
you wait a week and go on the AZVJC Anniversary run. It's posted in
big letters on the AZVJC main page (the one that comes up after you
log in).

When I did my 8.8/Waggy 44 Swap I had a heck of a time with bleeding
the brakes. I ended up using a vacuum pump to bleed the brakes.
Thats your best bet.
I also swapped a 97 ZJ 4 wheel disc proportioning valve and a 2000
WJ master cylinder and booster. It worked really well.

Subject: Need TJ Items
Good Morning Group,
I am in the market to purchase Jeep TJ full steel
doors, and top preferably a hard top.
The Jeep was my weekend toy however, due to a divorce
it is now my daily driver. This heat is killing me so
I need to get under cover.
Any help would be appreciated in my search for parts.
The cheapest places etc. Again due to divorce I don't
have much money so they can be project items such as
doors with a few scratches.
I am even looking for rims and tires but that is a
lower priority since I have some tires and rims. I
have a 4 inch lift on it and used to have 33's under
it but I sold them in prep for sale but the sale of
the vehicle fell through. So anything size 31 or 33.
Again thanks for any help!!

Anyone out there just happens to have a "spare" Warn hood decal (Large
"W")? Kristi would really like to have one on her YJ. I have tried
three times to get one thru Warn directly but twice they sent some
little three inchers. I know they usually only hand them out to
competitors at there sponsored events so I thought I'd try to see if
anyone in the group has an extra we could possibly buy from.
Thnx!

Subject: TJ help - Speedo doesn't work & it won't idle again!
Hi all,
let's start off with the speedo question. I had my t-case out a
couple of weeks ago & now the speedo & odometer don't work. I've done
the obvious like making sure I plugged the harness back in & checking
for any cut wires. What now? Any ideas? As for the idle problem, I
think it's the TPS again, but I just replaced it about 6 months ago.
How often do these go bad? Could it be the CPS? I need to get this
fixed since it's my daily driver. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob Kennedy

Bob,
The speedo gear assembly needs to be clocked (rotated) correctly in order to
be driven. The gear size used dictates where the correctly position is.
Please refer to my web site (www.stu-offroad.com) for details on how to do
this, assuming you did not know this prior to your installing the sppedo
assembly.

Subject: MOBI-ARC wiring help
Group:
I am pretty much laid up with no knee joint for a while because of a
staff infection. I need some help with the wiring on my Jeep for the
Mobi-Arc welding unit. I got everything (Mobi-Arc box and 150 amp
alternator) installed before I went into surgery but I need someone to
hook up the wiring for me. Most of it is straight forward but there are
two wires that, in my mind, go to the plug on the alternator.
Unfortunately, nowhere in the directions do they actually say that.
If anyone out there has had experience wiring up the Mobi-Arc unit and
can give me a hand with this I would truly appreciate it. I would
perfer that the CAMO COW was ready to run and it only needs these few
wires hooked up to be operational again.
I am willing to pay for anyone's time and travel to get this done.
You can call me at 602-336-9088 or e-mail me as the spirit move you.

Team TJ unlocked on 33's with 3" lift and the other with ARB's 35's and 5"
lift.
Team YJ, Detroits F&R, SOA, 1.5" springs, FW (63").
Team YJ tried the crack on Lower Woodpecker, damage, a bent tie rod and a
rim bent/popped beed. Sometime in the there my TJ had to pull him out of the
crack. He ended up going around.
Both TJ's went around the crack.
Upper Wood Pecker, first little obstacle unlocked TJ bypass, both the other
vehicles no problem.
Fire Whole, team TJ by pass. Team YJ through, more bent tie rod and a
u-joint cap falling off. I hook the strap to the tie rod and semi-straighten
it.
We all turn around and head back. Airing up team TJ noticed that team YJ had
lost the cap to the axle u-joint, no parts to fix it. Then team TJ pulls out
wrenchs and tape measure to insure team YJ can get back home to Tucson
without major death wobble.
Anyway, it was fun, nice meeting you both. I have to work on my junk here,
so I too back be leaf sprung.

BTW - The rain did some good things for the trail, but it looks like it
needs some more. Oh, and I saw a javalena and lots of quail on Upper

Thnx for any input!

the saloon was built into the side of the hill, so the upstairs were
mainly accessable from the rear of the building (at ground level).
The upstairs served as a place repose for women of ill fame.

Do you think they would mind if you went to the Stealership and did a little
tracing ? You could always tell them the old Cinderella story : If this
flare fits my bank account , I'll come right back and pay cash for the Jeep
......Salesmen will usually fall for it .....
Just a thought ,

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would like to let me borrow their TJ rear
flares for a little bit. I want to cut my rear fenders out the shape
of the rear flares. Unfortunately I already sold all my flares. I
just need a set to hold up there for a quick minute and trace a line
around. Does anyone have a set laying around they will let me use?
I will be quick, I can even trace my line in your driveway!
Thanks a ton!

I have a Waggy 44 front in my YJ but not the 8.8. Instead, I have a
Scout 44 rear with 11" drum brakes. I have a fair amount of travel
in my brake pedal but it's not bad if I keep the rear brakes adjusted
properly. I run the stock master cylinder (Napa brand).
If you drained your master cylinder in the process of doing your
swap, did you bench bleed the master cylinder? There could be air
trapped in it as opposed to the lines or calipers.

Subject: Re: [TR] Crown King from Lake Pleasant - Saturday, August 2, 2003
to me, "the Crown King exit off I-17" means the Bumble Bee exit north
of Black Canyon City.

Anyone out there just happens to have a "spare" Warn hood decal (Large

three times to get one thru Warn directly but twice they sent some
little three inchers. I know they usually only hand them out to
competitors at there sponsored events so I thought I'd try to see if
anyone in the group has an extra we could possibly buy from.

Thanks,

Bob,
The speedo gear assembly needs to be clocked (rotated) correctly in order to
be driven. The gear size used dictates where the correctly position is.
Please refer to my web site (www.stu-offroad.com) for details on how to do
this, assuming you did not know this prior to your installing the sppedo
assembly.
