I hope I can explain this. While driving around it seems like the motor
cuts out. Almost like you switch it off and back on real quick.
It also does it sometimes when you let off the gas and then step on it
again. Sometimes it even does it when you take off from a stop. This
just started. It has a fairly new TPS and MAP. Any ideas?
Thanks

I know that they are longer, they have tobe to wrap around the axle. That is
true about angle of the mounting points, and I can see where it will work
with higher lifts. I used the 4" as a general rule. I have run, and others that
I know, larger lifts with short arms, but have seen alot of problems start at
over 4". The J arms will definately be better than stock, and with the shock
mounts being relocated/extended will help with flex. I stand corrected, but
I still see more advantages of the "long" arms over the J arms. If you're
going to all the trouble of relocating brackets and such, why not get as long of
an arm that you can uncer there for superior angles and reep the benefiets?
Like I said before, the J arms are defiately an improvement over stock, but I
like the longer arms. The fireant does have the steering relocated to correct
the bumpsteer and angle issues, but I'd still like to see what it feels like
going over bumps on the road. I may be wrong, as I've never seen the J arms on
the street, but if you or someone has done this and likes the ride on the
street, and has driven the same setup with long arms, please let me know howit
compares.

Subject: H2 in White Tanks area....
While I was waiting at Moore on Monday I talked to a fellow Jeeper
named Jerry. He and his sons shorten Scout frames and put Jeep bodies
on them and then drop in Chevy small blocks. He mentioned that his
sons and son-in-law had been running around the White Tanks and came
upon an H2 that was stuck between two boulders. The guy had already
ripped off the running boards trying to squeeze between the boulders.
He asked if they could winch him out from the back, but they had no
luck. They could not get around the boulders to try from the front.
They asked if he wanted to call a tow truck and the guy said no. He
asked for a lift back to town. They inquired what he wanted to do
about the H2 and he said that he was "screw it" because he was TEST
DRIVING it!! I will bet that the salesman had told the guy he can
take that H2 anywhere!! They gave him a lift back to town, then went
to the White Tanks a few weeks later and found the H2 stripped. If I
remember right there were posts on the AZVJC board about the stripped
H2 also. Now as Paul Harvey would say, you know the rest of the story.

HI Keith,
If you are looking for a good portable compressor, look for a
TruckAir. They are cheap and can be run continously for up to 8
hours. The TruckAir isn't fast, but it will fill tires. They can be
found at the finest stores: Walmart, Target, Kmart, Pep Boys, etc.
If you want fast fill ups look at portable air tanks, CO2 tanks or
engine driven setups.

The only reason I can think to go to a J arm is because of cost... I'm sure

There is a flaw in your theory...the J arms are anything but cheap, I
personally cant wait to see how it works...coming out of Currie Im
sure they are going to work damn well. Then we can put them on your
Jeep along with a nice shiny Alumi-flex steering system. :)

Hello All,Joel Jonson is leading an Anaconda trail run on Saturday, August 16, 2003.<br><br>When: 6:00am
Where: At the Table Mesa "air down" area
Rating: 5.0
Length: 5 hours
CB Channel: 34
This is a trail we've done a few times. We would prefer if the rigs were all equipped with lockers and at least 35's. E-mail Cory Jonson at cory@j....<br>
Anaconda is one of the toughest trails in Arizona; quite possible the toughest trail. The trail starts near the beginning of Lower Terminator and travels up a side wash.<br>
<br>
Quickly the trail becomes narrow and tough. There are several waterfalls to traverse and the rock walls are unforgiving. Tires with tough sidewalls are definitely recommended, as is extra parts. Once you start Anaconda, you are committed; there is an exit mid way through but only after traversing one of the tougher waterfalls.<br>

Definitly take the camera on this one. Don't forget water.<br>

HAhaHHahah! I read this at humvee.net, what a crock!!
I seen a hummer at the coves one afternoon, He got hungup on so many
things it wasnt even funny! It was stock ofcourse.
exert:
================================================== =========================
Isn't a Hummer awfully wide? Is it too wide for my favorite Jeep trail?
The Hummer's width gives it inherent stability and makes it possible to
be high-clearance and have a relatively low center of gravity at the
same time. While it can be an occasional limitation, the Hummer can
traverse a lot of terrain that a narrower vehicle can not. It takes
off-roading to a new level. You'll soon forget about that favorite Jeep
trail (a Hummer will take the challenge out of it) and start thinking
about driving places you'd never have thought about driving before.
================================================== =========================
Such BS! Sounds liek a used car sales marketing tactic! haha
Tony 78CJ5 <---- goes 1000x more places than a hummer could even imagine!
Especialy those mule trails where CJ's wheels nearly hang off the
sides of cliffs.

Hummers are designed to exceed a minimum roll over angle with a weapons
system mounted to the top (.50 Cal, TOW pod, etc), still be able to
carry a bunch of troops. The military got tired of Jeeps flipping onto
their lid, required a pretty stiff spec on roll overs.

Well, I finally got around to notching my transfer case skid plate so that
the front drive shaft clears at full flex. Take a look at the link to see
what it looks like. It's not very pretty, but what do expect from a hack saw
and dremel tool :-) You can also see the rub mark on the drive shaft where
it used to rub.

Any ideas?

You bring up a good point; If you are going to do all the work anyway, why
not just go with the longest arm possible.
The only reason I can think to go to a J arm is because of cost... I'm sure
it would be less expensive than most long-arm kits out on the market.

a Hummer or an H2 could make it all the way through the box canyon in
Florence.

There is a flaw in your theory...the J arms are anything but cheap, I
personally cant wait to see how it works...coming out of Currie Im
sure they are going to work damn well. Then we can put them on your
Jeep along with a nice shiny Alumi-flex steering system. :)
ooops!...did I say that....

That H2 is probably the only one you will ever see on the trails. Most owners slap on the bling-bling and do mall posing with them.

Can't answer the why, but I can tell you, for sure, that an H2 can easily
get through Box Canyon.. I've seen one do it.. No problems at all, width
wise..

Subject: [TR] Anaconda - Saturday, August 16, 2003
<br>
<br>
Definitly take the camera on this one. Don't forget water.<br>
<br>
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

I was once told they were designed to a european spec of the total width
of most of the streets and corridors in europe, why they would want to
restrict themselves to the full size of the road, i have no clue.

HAhaHHahah! I read this at humvee.net, what a crock!!
I seen a hummer at the coves one afternoon, He got hungup on so many
things it wasnt even funny! It was stock ofcourse.
exert:
================================================== =========================
================================================== =========================
