Who's kit is that? It will be interesting to see if the effects of
that match a "typical" long arm kit.
I don't think I would be able to do that, with my steering setup.
Let us know how it goes.

I have a front end howling noise when I let off the accelerator. I
first thought it could be the t-case or tranny. Last night we put it
up on 4 jack stands. Its a 94 zj awd 4.0, so all wheels were
rolling. We sort of narrowed it down. The noise is stronger out of
the front right side, actually from the right side of the diff to the
right tire.

My question is what could it be? Could it be the R&P Bolt, gears or
axle, or bearings?

thanks,

Fred,
Those are pretty radical bends. What are the arms made of? Are those
upper or lower control arms? I like the use of the Johnny joints, but
at both ends? Is these going on a daily driver? Just curious.

They could combine that new sport with the Jeep submarine races, held on a regular basis at the Gila river crossing by the coke ovens!

Yes sir !!!
I'me also doing the lower j-arms in the front and will be running a single,
longer upper control arm in the front.
The j-arms are around 8" longer than stock control arms, so this makes it a
"medium" arm kit, as opposed to a long arm kit.
It provides all the advantages of a LA with none of the disadvantages ;)

I've always liked the concept of the J arms. Let us know how it turns out.
What does the single front upper arm mount to? One of the upper axle
mounts and a new frame mount... or something different entirely?

Hello,
I have a weird popping noise I'm tring to figure out.

When it happens:
When I let out the clutch fast in first gear, and when I'm climbing steep hills.
It happens in First or second gear. Happens in 2wd, 4wd hi and low.
I hear it, and feel it in the floorboard, popping noise and thumping feeling.

What I have:
1998 TJ sahara, 2" RE spacer lift, 1" Daystar body lift, 32x11.50" tires. 4.0L I6.

What I checked:
Today I checked the teeth on the driveline, clean.
Removed the rear dif cover, inspected the teeth on the spyder gears, no metal shaving found, all teeth in good shape.
I removed the rear driveline and retested in 4wd (front wheel drive only). No noise was heard. I raised the rear end of the vehicle off the ground and retested, no noise.. So the vehicle has to be stressed to hear the noise. please let me know what you think.. I have a .wav file of the noise If you'd like to hear it.

they DO have disadvantages. I'll stick with my long arms, I like the

Rio, I'm going with the j-arms in the front also, however they require a lot
more work to get 'em mounted.
So, since I have to change a lot of stuff to mount the fronts, I'm going to
wait until I can pickup a HP39 from a late model XJ.
I'll do the WJ knuckle swap at that time. That will get "rid" of the track
bar mount and steering stabilizer mount from their stock location, which is
right in the way of the j-arm mounts.
I'm going to use a single (large), longer upper arm, which will be custom,
along with a custom frame mount for it.. It'll use the 3" j-joints and mount
to the axle using the existing mount on the diff.
The reason for the single upper is to free up some of the bind of the
existing front 5 link system.
Several people have done this in California, and it's worked up really,
really well.
Here's a link:
