Hey Jim,

Working on Jeeps gets in your blood. Lots of folks on here have lent
me a hand in the past and I got the chance to pay it back this last
weekend. Had a new member over and put his lift on in a couple of
hours. This whole club is that way. They get their rigs built the way
they want them so the only thing left is to work on someone else's
LOL. Most folks are more than helpful, all you gotta do is ask, the
wealth of knowledge is overwhelming, and they're always willing to
help. Service manual will go a long way, now if Someone would teach
me to read wiring diagrams...

So, today, turning the corner I noticed a clunk from my rear-end. Well my rear control arm on the drivers side has broken the weld. Is there anyone who can weld this? I can supply frosty bev and food and help on your rig or what ever, though I am not that mechanically inclined. Any help would be great.
Thank You,

I don't have any pictures. Sorry! I am sure there's some on-line
somewhere. I gave away both my FSMs with the ZJ when I sold it. It
kind of sounds like I should have hung on to one of them.

Just like on any other vehicle, something foreign added to the gas
tank, via the gas pump or maliciously, could clog up the system. I
hope that isn't the case!

Well, I spoke with Mike at cedar roost cabins in CK today. Cindy's cafe is
going to be ready for our arrival on the 16th prepared with enough food so we
wont have to prepay like we did last year. unfortunately, Mike brought to my
attention that the switchback is going out of business or is just not going to be
serving food anymore. Mike is also going to be getting a band for that
weekend for all you country lovin folk, yeeehaaaaa! but for all you hip-hop junkies
(like myself), the party's in the back of my jeep.
He spoke to somebody in the club already so he already had a heads up on the
occasion, but he was under the influence that there was going to be about 30
to 33 members. I reminded him of last years run and from the sound of his
voice, he seemed pretty excited. that weekend is going to be a locals party and so
far that's the only deal that's going on (until we show up).

Is there year(s) CJ/SJ/YJ that was hubless and used wheels with 5-5.5
stud spacing? I have a set of 4 Dodge truck aluminum alloy turbine
wheels 15x7, 5-5.5, that have a small center hole that won't fit over
a lot of hubs. They are a pretty rare wheel and are in nice shape.
They would be good for a 4x4 that isn't hammered too hard on the
trails. I might have to post them on a truck or mini-van newsgroup.

Thanks,

Hi All,

I have a question on QD's... I'm running 31" x 10.50 BFG MTR's on my TJ which is not lifted. If I disconnected the sway bars, would I get too much tire rub on the trail that may cause damage? I guess what I'm really asking is, do you have to be lifted to disconnect?

Thanks for your inputs,

No you don't have to be lifted to disconnect. I don't have a lift
and run disconnected all the time. Never had a problem.

I am looking for the lengths of the axle shafts for my project, without
taking them out again and measuring them. Any help?
The BOM for the axle is 610027-2. I am using the inner shafts from this one
and the out shafts from a BOM 603685-6. Appartently I am stupid, I would
think the shaft lengths would be listed some where on this WWW.

I want to see how much alloy shafts would cost, before I break them on the
trail.

Make sure you find out what is covered in those cheaper
warranties.Being a tech at a dealership we see all kinds of
warranties that arent factory and they dont cover very much.Ive seen
some that only warranty internally lubricated parts and some that
have a small deductible but only pay a certain amount toward a repair
leving you having to pay the balance of what they wont pay + the
deductible.Just make sure you know what you are getting. Don

Used CJ tailgates are typically hard to find, especially one that's
not abused. If you can't find a used tailgate, you can get one new
from http://www.4wd.com

Steel Tailgate, CJ7, CJ8, 1976-86
Product Number: 5454025
$94.95

Good luck,
