Subject: Part time fabricators wanted.

This is probably a bunch to ask, but I'm looking for someone who does
some fabricating that would let me help out in the process. I want to
help just to learn, not to try to save money, your time and materials
are worth what they're worth. I just want to see if fabing Jeep parts
is a real interest for me or would be more difficult and time
consuming than I'd be able to handle.

I want to make some simple rocker guards with a step and an inside
storage rack/shelf idea I have floating around. Anyway, if you're
interested or available for such an undertaking, I'd like to get
these done by the end of August. Of course there are tons of like
products available but I try to make what I can and buy only what I
can't.

Thanks,
Phil

P.S. I do have some mechanical and creative skills but they're all in
the medium of wood so you won't be leading the completely blind as
far as design prep work.

Sharky, I'm in Tucson ;)

I had a small issue with the install on mine, but other than that it's been
good.

I did have to extend the rear brake line, the rubber brake hose that comes
off the solid line at the frame rail and goes to the t-block on the axle.. I
used a braded staniless line from RE..

Regarding the install issue:

There's a 'C' shaped bracket that bolts to the axle/diff bracket.. It's the
one that the rod end from the wish bone bolts to..
Anyway, there's only two ways that the 'C' bracket can fit to the diff
brace. There are two holes in the 'C' shaped bracket and they wouldn't line
up with the holes in the diff bracket no matter which of the two ways we
tried.
This was on a weekend, so, of course RK was closed.
I posted up on several boards asking which way as goes, as either way, we'ld
have to rework the holes in the 'C' bracket..
We figured out (from some replies to the post) which way it was suppose to
go, and then re-drilled (actually rounded out) the holes to make it fit..
The exising holes were off by ca 1/2"..
With the bracket installed the "correct" way, the bolt that goes vertically
through that single rod end was tipped towards the rear (if you looked at
end from the side, looking along the length of the axle), maybe 15 ~ 20
degrees.. That couldn't be correct !!
The photo that someone had posted up for us had the same tilt.
Anyway, we removed the bracket and re-drilled the holes again (1" off this
way) so that we could install the bracket "upside down"..
Now, when all bolted up, and the Jeep level that vertical bolt is almost
perfectly vertical, going through the rod end.
I called and spoke to Jeremy about it on Monday, and he said that the
bracket, as we ended up installing it, was "upside down" from what it's
suppose to be, but, that it was ok that way... When I told him about the 15
~ 20 degree tilt in the bolt, when installed the other way, he said that the
rod end has 30 degrees of movement in any direction.. I replied that I was
aware of that, but why goive up over half of it's movement in one direction
with the Jeep level, when simply redoing the 'C' bracket would give it the
full range of motion.. Pretty much silence on the other end of the phone for
his answer.

It would not be a good thing to reverse the thermostat because the water

I am supposing you already checked to make the thermostat is in the
right way, correct? You didn't change that after the new water pump

Hey folks..anyone got a trashed out TJ RE adjustable track bar laying
around? Specifically, I am looking for the mounting hardware..those two
little spacers and the sleeve that fits inside of the heim. Trade you
for a six pack of something cold to drink?

Subject: Misting systems

Hi club,

I contacted Misty Mate (http://www.mistymate.com/home.html) regarding a
misting system. Elsewhere I came across a DC pump intended for misting
systems, but not quite sure how to get water to it. for what it's worth,
this was Misty Mates's response:

_____

Hello and thanks for writing,

We are actually looking into a larger tank for the 2004 Season. Not a
guarantee that it'll come out next year, just kicking it around.

Right now, I'd just recommend 1 or two misty mates used individually.
Adding more nozzles to a 16 or 24oz unit will diminish the mist too
quickly (in my opinion).

Thanks for keeping us in mind and like I said, check back and hopefully
we'll have a versitile solution for you and other applications next
year!

Best Regards,
Greg Rodriguez

Yeap. Just talked with Greg on the phone today. He's invited me down
to the HQ
in Gilbert to show me some of the different systems that they sell now.
They don't have
a storefront there, but they do have a "will-call" kind of set up if you
want to purchase
something

Going to a campground in Camp Verde area this Fri for weekend and
towing the TJ for the first time. I guess we are what you
call "light riders" ie: lifted, 33s, winch and disconnects. No rock
crawling, mostly sightseeing.

Can anyone inform us of trails in that area in the range of 2 to 3
max that we can run? We will be traveling by ourselves unless we
find someone to run with.

Thank you all for any help.

LOL. Joe already wants one of Troys long arm kits. He's just shy of the

On the bright side Joe will finally be getting a long arm kit. Can I still
