I can't spring for $1,000 but I'd be happy to pay $200-$300. I've often

new batch of cheap land could be purchased somewhere. Anyone want to form

You should be able to follow the wires from the compressor back to the
firewall, or somewhere more conveint to tie into than on the motor. Test
the two wires to see which one is the positive lead, use that to trigger the
fan relay. You might want to try to find the AC signal wire in the
dashboard, thus making it a short run to a 3 position toggle switch (fans
on, fans off, AC/temp trigger).

Yup. The club began to gel online in the ramj+w newsgroup around
June 98 I believe, but the first run (the naming run) was Sunday, Aug

I dug out the old webpage and posted teh trip report (sans pictures)

what you can dig up when you're unable to sleep. I hope to be right
in the middle of dropping an RE 4.5" lift and 32s on my XJ that very
weekend!

Subject: Engine temp ?'s

Got a 96XJ that runs around 220 normally (which is normal) at around
100-115 degrees outside temp. But went to Springerville this weekend
Friday and Sunday and the engine temp was running 150-160 with 65-95
degrees outside temp. I have a 195 thermostat so my only guess is the
outside temp is making it run colder or hotter. The temp did jump
back up to 220 when I came out of the mountains and went back down
when I went back up. Anyone have the same thing happen to them? I
know the engine runs better at 220 but its not like I can make it run
any hotter in the higher elevations. By the way, the 65 degree temps
makes me wonder why the heck I live down here in the desert.

By the way I got some awesome pics of me climbing a 85-90 degree wall
(part of the bridge that goes over Salt River). I was as far as my
hitch would let me which was pretty damn far. I felt like I was
sitting in a rocket Got to get the pics developed and will post them
as soon as I get them back. I wish I had my 33's on instead of the
30's that I use for long travels to save on gas.

In these days of law suits and governmental babysitting (protecting
us from ourselves) the demise of the Wrangler (or any other fully
convertible SUV) is to be expected. Is that why LR no longer sells
the D90 and 110 models in the U.S.?

BTW, I also learned that soon, in California, you won't be able to
buy a new diesel automobile. I think trucks are exempt.

Hey now!

There is no correlation between welding on the frame and alumi-stress
steering... unless of course you happen to overheat the aluminum during the
welding process in which case it becomes EVEN more brittle, which could of
course cause it to fracture even easier which could lead to a failure at
high speed causing you to slam into a bus full of school children which
would then cause the demise of the entire bus load of children resulting in
the recall of all alumi-stress components ever installed and the resulting
bankruptcy of Toys By Troy and vindication of all my comments regarding the
risks of using aluminum in single point failure designs.. LOL
