yeah. Its a good deal. They go for around 150 on ebay. You can get one new
from 4 wheelers for about $215 or so with the club discount. Do you know
this person? Seems like a sketchy excuse to sell it. Once you put it in,
theres not much to have to deal with. Also, why does he have spare parts for
it unless hes blown it up once before? I dunno. At least with ebay you have
a little recourse if its junk (and you use your credit card to pay for it).

if your doing it on a yj its easy the E-brake cables on the 8.8 can be used
one cable is the right size but the other one is about 2" shorter all we did
is drilled out the hole the long one goes into and welded in a 2" pice of
square tubbing and drilled the new hole to just fit the cable end and use
the rest of the yj"s E-brake setup and your done!!!

The TJ made it home from Troy's last night. If you could see me as I type
this, I am grinning. While I've only driven it home, I am completely happy
with the street handling. Steering is responsive (no dead zones),
suspension feels great (still tweaking the RS-9000s to go with the
RockCrawler springs), and I think I am getting about 6 MPG better than when
it went to the shop. ;>)
I'll have some time during the evenings to crawl around and find all the
things Troy did....he gave me a quick run down last night but in the fading
light, I was forced to use a penlight to see what he was talking about. I'm
sure it will be easier to see the changes in daylight!
later......Stu

Using line lock for ebrakes is really cool. But you have to remember after a
while (days) the pressure will bleed off.
I used line lock on 68 camaro that had a 660hp rat motor in it. We used for
drag raceing. We turn on the line lock rev the engine to 8KPRM and let it
go. He Ya!!! felt like being shot out of cannon. Those where the good old

I had asked him about that. I think the Solenoid just activates the line
lock switch. once its locked, its locked until the solenoid is hit again. He
ran it for years in a blazer without any problems.
The 8.8's I looked at werent set up for ebrakes, they must have been out of
something different than the ones Scott is talking about ( I thought they
were from ford explorers) . It sounds like all he had to do was worry about
brake cables.
I have seen a few set ups that have special mounts for additional e brake
calipers from other applications etc. That transfer case lock is cool, I
hadnt seen that one before.

We where using a manual 2 speed ball crusher trainy no hydraulics to lock.
We used the line lock on the front brakes only. This was so we only need two
feet. One on the clutch and one on the go peddle. The Line lock keeped use
from creeping forward and getting disqualified while rev up to 8Krpm. We
would also pop the clutch a faction of sec. before the green light and then
pop the line lock.
The Mongoose hey! Cool he was funny car as I recall. We where running
pro-stock.

Just curious; brake lock or trany lock - my dad used a trany lock in his
clutch-hydro. Ever heard of the Mongoose? - A silver Vet funny in the

Using line lock for ebrakes is really cool. But you have to remember
after a
while (days) the pressure will bleed off.
I used line lock on 68 camaro that had a 660hp rat motor in it. We used
for
drag raceing. We turn on the line lock rev the engine to 8KPRM and let
it
go. He Ya!!! felt like being shot out of cannon. Those where the good
old
days!

I had asked him about that. I think the Solenoid just activates the line
lock switch. once its locked, its locked until the solenoid is hit
again. He
ran it for years in a blazer without any problems.
The 8.8's I looked at werent set up for ebrakes, they must have been out
of
something different than the ones Scott is talking about ( I thought
they
were from ford explorers) . It sounds like all he had to do was worry
about
brake cables.
I have seen a few set ups that have special mounts for additional e
brake
calipers from other applications etc. That transfer case lock is cool, I
hadnt seen that one before.

Two news items today:
1) Microsoft wins $100 million Homeland Security contract.
2) Microsoft admits critical flaw in nearly all Windows software.
Am I the only one who sees anything wrong with this picture?
Maybe H.S. should consider using Open Source software

Subject: fuel pump options
I am doing the V6 Vortec swap into my jeep. I am looking for fuel pump
options or will by 2.5L fuel pump work? Spending some time at my
father's house keeping an eye on the kinishba fire (it is only about 15
miles from there) I ran all the fuel lines. I will finish up with the
vacume line and be done with that part.
I looked for the original pump from a Chevy Astro van (the donor vehicle
for the vortec engine) but the tag came up to $400 WOW. There has to be
a better option
Thanks All

Hey all,
A while back I received a set of stock coils from a TJ and a track bar (I think) from someone in the group from Tucson. I picked them up at your buddies house in Phoenix. If you are this person, please email me off the list. I'm trying to keep a log of my "spare" parts and have a few questions on the origins and miles on the parts for reference. Thanks.

How about autozone? They're like $20 each there. I have all the drum brake

Sierra Signs and Service in Mesa (480-835-0168) can print onto really
heavy vinyl any size (that would fit on a windshield), shape, picture or
graphic design you want. Any shop that does those vinyl wrap things they
put on cars can do a window decal.

Using line lock for ebrakes is really cool. But you have to remember after a

I used line lock on 68 camaro that had a 660hp rat motor in it. We used for
drag raceing. We turn on the line lock rev the engine to 8KPRM and let it

We where running
pro-stock.

Two news items today:
1) Microsoft wins $100 million Homeland Security contract.
2) Microsoft admits critical flaw in nearly all Windows software.
Am I the only one who sees anything wrong with this picture?
Maybe H.S. should consider using Open Source software
like linux or freebsd instead? Just a thought. =)

yeah....I am still trying to get it all taken in, so to speak. So many
things changed....and I didn't do any of the work (OK....I ordered the
driveshaft).....I gotta spend some time on my back, under the TJ, just to
get used to what it looks like. LOL

Thanks.

Sierra Signs and Service in Mesa (480-835-0168) can print onto really
heavy vinyl any size (that would fit on a windshield), shape, picture or
graphic design you want. Any shop that does those vinyl wrap things they
put on cars can do a window decal.
