Maybe some of our members would like a new family member? or know someone in the snowflake area that would? I don't know why but the pictures of the cats did not copy over, they are all very sweet! so sad what happened to them, but they were saved by wonderful folks like you! :wings:

Meet the Snowflake, AZ "Survivors"

It has been almost six months since these cats were rescued from a tragic living situation in Snowflake, AZ. A total of 54 kitties were the companions of a woman who suffered from a history of mental illness, and they all lived together in a filthy trailer among trash piles several feet deep. The woman, who had no concept that what she was doing was wrong, was committed to a hospital and is expected to live in supervised care for the rest of her life.

While she was getting the treatment she so desperately needed, the Animal Defense League of Arizona (ADLA) worked closely with Second Chance in Flagstaff to make sure the cats also got some long-awaited veterinary attention. In addition to being malnourished, many were blind or had limited vision due to severe upper respiratory infections, including herpes viral conjunctivitis and calici virus.

A number of the cats were adopted out of Second Chance but loving homes are needed for the final 11. These kitties are all sweet but a bit shy, and still recuperating from their prior ordeal. If you are interested in adopting one of these cats, please contact Jean Meyers at (928) 773-8028. You can also help them out by spreading the word to animal-lovers in your community.

Thanks for taking the time to read about the Snowflake cats and remember -

Kindness to animals builds a better world for all of us.
