Mmmm, at over $200.00 (for the Wrangler), it'll take a long, long time to
recover it's cost, assuming 2 mpg increase.. I already use 87 octane, so
that's of no benefit.. I pass emissions, so, again, no benefit (for me).

Oh great, now the f*cking emissions testing stations
are allowed to have Chrysler DRB 3's, but we're
still not allowed to buy them? The only thing we
can get is an aftermarket thing that doesn't do all
the stuff that the Chrysler DRB 3 does. I think
that all car manufacturers (especially f*cking
CHRYSLER) should be required to retrofit
all engine computers with an RS-232 or USB
serial port, plus software for Windows, Linux,
and Macintosh so that we can tune our jeeps
and other vehicles with our own home computers.

I'm a computer programmer, and I think the
wedding of computer technology to internal
combustion technology is about the stupidest
thing I've ever seen. The car manufacturers
should at least make it easy for us to use
their silly computer technology.

few $$$. Why would you say I'm sending spam?

Have you ever tried to get a Chrysler box programed? It's not like
Chevys or Fords. As far as I know, DC won't given anyone the key to
program their boxes and they don't have programable chips.

As far as swapping computers, I don't think that will fly with this
testing. The computer has to match the vehicle.

I am sure Joe D. can shed some light on this.

Yeah, isn't it amazing how Chrysler won't give up the connectivity
and the rest will? You would think there would be some sort of law
against that. Isn't this something like, Microsoft selling you some
software and not allowing anyone else to interface with it? or
something?

No, you misunderstand what I am saying. Yes, I have
to keep the silly Chrysler computer in my jeep. But,
the engine computer port, (the thing that the DRB plugs into
so that you can scan codes, tune the engine, etc.) is
a proprietary (probably serial) port. It's not a computer
industry standard RS-232, USB or parallel port.
Plus, Chrysler keeps the protocol used by this port
secret. If the engine computer had a standard serial
port and the protocol were published, then I could
write my own software for my home computer or
laptop to pull the coded from the engine computer,
tune the engine, etc.

Rims: 4 AR 39 rims for sale they have the CJ bolt pattern and they are 15x8.

That should save everyone from having to look it up to determine if you're interested.

Good luck!

First off, this is the stock DC battery in my 2000 TJ.

I had my jeep parked and went to start it and nothing. I have had no indications there were any problems until this. I noticed I had no power, a flickering dome light was about it. I popped the hood and the "dummy" indicator on the battery was black as night.

I got a jump and as I was driving home I noticed that the amp gauge (yes I know that it is not 100% accurate) was "pegged" @ 19. When I got it home I pulled the battery, and it appears to be toast. This is the original battery on a 2000 TJ so I figure that it gave up the ghost. Any one have any experiences similar, only to find something other than the battery? I am running some additional electrical accessories, but nothing extreme.

I am considering going to a yellow top Optima, anyone know where I can get one in the east valley tonight?

Thanks,
