Mark's Nuts and bolt.

On the east side of 67th avenue between Orangewood and Northern. It is
pretty close to 4x4 Salvage on Belmont.

They charge by the pound and have good prices and LOTS of selection. I
work near here and have been changing out all the Torks bolts which I
get from here.

Anyone have a preference of where to get Grade 8 bolts by the box,
central Phoenix locations prefered? The parts store by the piece is
getting expensive.

Kent,

I pick up my Grade 8 hardware at the Ace Hardware store, just north of
Glendale on 51st Ave (west side of the road, about 1 block north).

As with most Ace Hardware stores, they have a very good selection of
fasteners. Their per piece price is good because they simply break open
a box and dump it in the bin....none of this package of 3 or 4 stuff for
some ridiculous price. Of course, you can buy it buy the box as well.
I won't say they have every fastener in the world, but I've only walked
out of there one time in the past several years without the right piece
in my hand. (and that was only because they didn't have the nut I
wanted in fine thread... they were out of stock).

OK, this is going to show what a TJ newbie I am , but I am certain
that that bolt that holds the front sway bar bracket to the frame is
16mm. Are TJ's metric? I though for sure some of it was SAE. Don't
tell me there is both on here, cuz I have NO metric wrenches (CJ's
didn't need 'em).

Just a thought, but if you change the name from an offensive name
like squaw( meaning young female indian) to piestewa( a young female
indian) isnt that going to be more offensive. maybe not, but I think
her name will forever be accociated with the name squaw.

Also if you are not in a hurry; www.gen-aircraft-hardware.com they will
send you a free 300pg catalogue and the quality is grade #8 and
higher(aviation approved) w/cadmium plating - pricing is better than
Copperstate Nut & Bolt. There is nothing you can't get.

OK, much confusion. Befuddlement. OUCH, I just bumped into a wall.

So, Grade 8 is an SAE standard, is the metric equivelent the 10.9
standard.

Now I gotta buy metric wrenches. And impact sockets. And deep sockets.

Expletive.

10.9 is about the same as grade 8. 8.8 is about a grade 5.

Stu,

On a Saturday I agree. But during the weekday Mark's. If you haven't
been there for a nut or bolt you got to check it out. Grade 8 or 5, zinc
or stainless steel, even galvanized. He has a very large collection. The
thing I like about Mark's is that you can browse the bolts whereas at
Copper State you have to pretty much know what you want. You know how
Ace has one isle of nuts and bolts... multiply that by 10 or 15.

Like I said you should check it out next time you need a nut or bolt.

Anyone have a preference of where to get Grade 8 bolts by the box,
central Phoenix locations prefered? The parts store by the piece is
getting expensive.

Have you thought about just using Small Claims Court? No lawyers
allowed. If you have a physical copy of the ad it sounds like you
have a pretty good case.

With the state of the economy and our current budget crisis, I wonder how
much is this name change costing us? Those in the public services are going
without (EMS/Fire/Police)... county employees have gone two years without a
cost of living increase never mind a real raise, including the people on the
street enforcing the laws, the people doing criminal investigations, and the
people working in the jails keeping criminals off the streets. The people
in the medical examiners office do an insane average of 400 autopsies per
year per employee, yet are some of the lowest paid in the country. Why are
we wasting money on a name change?

Guess what? You need to go buy some metrics. The jeep is both SAE and
Metric with no rhime or reason.

I am building new steering for my XJ from 1.25 DOM. I need to have a 10 degree bend in my track bar, and (2) 5 degree bends in my tie rod. Anyone out there with a bender that can do this for me real quick, this weekend, if possible. Duffy, maybe??

I can pay in beer or cash for your time :)
