At last look (and what I tried to add to the trip report, also pics )
two tires, the Carb, battery, shocks, and some bolts ( trans, drive
shaft, ect...)are missing. I gave the VIN to FS, thay said something
about getting a tow truck in to haul it out. After I stoped laughing
I stated " If the tow truck can reach it and could possibly pull it
out, you would not like the bill. "

Errm, am I getting Lake Pleasant mixed up with Bartlett
and Horseshoe reservoirs? Last I heard, both of those
reservoirs were basically empty? Have they both filled
back up? Or are they also being used to store Colorado
River water?

I used a circ saw. The RE instructions say to mark the shaft w/ 1" of spline
showing to make your cut. I gave it an extra 1/8 of an inch, to give me some
room to grind the end flat.

Rob,

Die grinder for sure. Make sure you wrap masking tape around the shaft
instead of relying on a mark to know where to cut.
Cut the shaft about 1/16" LONGER than the specification and then use your
die grinder to grind it to the required length.

Kind Regards,

They've been wanting to rename the "Squaw peak MTN for quite some time because the Indians claim "the name Squaw peak is degrading to the Indian woman." It's been an issue for a couple of years I think. I, as well, support our living and mourn our fallen troops, and I agree with the rest of you about this ridiculous name change. if Napalitano wants to change any names in phoenix (as far as streets or roads), maybe she should consider changing "Vanburen". the city has been wanting to change that name as well with the hope to change the way that street is used from a negative to a positive. I think the name they wanted to use in the past was John F. Kennedy. I think this would be a bad move in her part. because it almost sounds and looks like she's recognizing Piestewa and not the other fallen soldiers. What would the other Families think?

Guess what Scott, the naming authority also decided to do away with
their "bylaws" during the meeting. The two volunteer members that
the bylaws require them to have, one resigned and one didn't show
up, there by in order to hold a vote on the nameing, the Govenor's
Attorney told them, they would have to vote out the bylaws. So they
voted out the bylaws then went ahead with the vote for the renaming.

This entire thing reminds me of the last presidentail election, the
difference being, the Democrats can change the rules in this case.
In the election the courts wouldn't allow them to change the rules,
otherwise called laws.

I'm not saying what happened is right but rather that it is a done deal (for
now). These waiting periods are put in place for a reason. I wouldn't be
surprised if this ends up in court. I thought the renaming was a good idea,
but believed it should wait the normal 5 years to see if people felt the
same way down the road. The governor definitely overstepped her authority. I
can't wait until the next election. <Grin> I also wouldn't be surprised if
some people started collecting signatures for a recall though the chances of
that succeeding are probably slim.

It reminds me how the Ballpark deal was done despite the people voting
against it. (One those people ended up getting shot, didn't they?) I don't
remember politics being this corrupt when I was growing up in Minnesota. Of
course I was younger then and maybe I didn't notice. It seems that this
state is full of corrupt politicians that play by their own rules. Since I
moved here I have seen 2 governors disgrace themselves (Mecham and
Symington), the ballpark deal, the alternative fuels deal, and now this
scandal.

I really don't know what should be done to clean it up. Hopefully those that
sidestepped the rules will get whats due. Hopefully the Arizona voters
remember this.

"Piestewa and not the other fallen soldiers. What
would the other Families think?" I believe that the
other famlies dont have a problem with this

Lori Piestewa was a mother of two, 3 and 4 year olds,
who went to fight for ideals she and we believed
in...she was from Tuba City....and I believe that
honoring the first active woman soldier to be killed
in front line action is a good thing and changing the
name from the deragatory SQUAW to an American indian
woman's name who promotes ideals of freedom and
democracy is a great idea and even better, that we too
can be proud of the American Indian heritage in our
great state. Its about time we recognized the
positives about of Native American culture and not
just the negatives...

Please be careful what you say about Cherokees. I am Blond ( when I
had hair), and blue eyed and I am 3/8ths. Iam also from an old
Virginia family too. I don't drive one yet. So just
remember.....Cherokees are very capable.(talk about OT.)

Brian,
I don't think there is any problem with this. It's just the way the
governer rammed it down everyone's throat, threatning to fire people
and bypassing laws.

Brian,
I wasn't talking about a 5 to 1 vote. The governer asked for peoples
resignations and to me, IMHO, was only making political hay out of
the whole situation. If it were my daughter, I would rather have
waited the 5 years it was originally setup with, so no politician
could use me and my family for furthering their clout. I saw nothing
wrong with Squaw Peak, and have no problem with it being named after
Piestewa, but lets follow the rules.
JMHO no offense intended or taken.

Subject: [OT][FS] Twin size reclining/massage/heat/ bed

I have a virtually new twin size bed complete with mattress, box springs,
and the base which:

Elevates head.
Elevates feet.
Multiple vibration settings.
Heat.

and comes with a remote controller.

This would make a GREAT bed for someone's nice garage. <grin>

Sell or trade for ???

There is a very easy way to get in there. One which I could drive my Honda
in through. There is a trail off of Indian Springs wash that comes down and
ends up right below the big hill. I dragged a Toyota out from that point
taking this route.

Anyone have a preference of where to get Grade 8 bolts by the box,
central Phoenix locations prefered? The parts store by the piece is
getting expensive.
