Hi Group,

My Jeep was part of a background scene in a movie shot on Tuesday. Here's a couple of pictures from that day.

Rick,

I don't know if everyone on the list will agree or not but I like this kind
of post. Please let us know if you have any other wheel/tire or tire deals
like this. I'm always looking for an upgrade deal. I just bought some tires
for my offroad trailer and it took me hours of calling to find someone who
had what I was looking for near the east valley. If no one agrees these
posts are valuable then feel free to setup a little private email list and
make me the first subscriber. :-)

Thanks,
Bill

Subject: Re: Access thru FR-42 & high lake level

The stretch of FR42 just past where you make your first approach to
the lake/river can be flooded out and impassible. This is the area
where the old engine block sits (visible when the water level is low)
and there are cliffs to the south. If the water level reaches the
high-water marks on those cliffs, the trail is flooded. I have
encountered that in person. We had to backtrack to find an alternate
route. Unfortunately, the alternate route bypasses some of the fun
stuff on FR42.

Not much response, but I think it has mostly to do with the short
notice. Then again we have not be receiving much input on the
future run either.

The reason the delay is not much of an option is this is centered on
the 5000 boy scouts they have coming the following week to carry
away what is cut down. Unfortunatly the boy scouts can't delay,
thus the need to try and round up anyone they can.

This is not in place of the follow up run we are putting together,
this was some help they needed in addition to our future run.

Ran FR42 today! Not the same without a group. My right tires were
dipping thier treads in the lake but was still very passable. PS the
Chevy rollover is still there and starting to be striped. I stoped by
the Froest Station and informed them, I just sent them pics including
the VIN number. If anyone wants to make an attempt to remove it had
better be soon, or else bring a big vacum.

For What It's Worth Dept:

I just bought a winch from a guy on ebay. It is the 9000 lb version
of this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?
ViewItem&item=2411411953&category=6779

It is madi in Taiwan, is 4.8 hp come with a roller fairlead, seems
to be OK. As near as I can tell it is a rebrand by the actaul
company that makes Pierce winches, which is popular in Europe and
with the Mog crowd.

It may not be the best 9000 # winch, but I only paid $500, to my
door, and I think it should be a good $500 winch. Should have it on
this weekend. If any one wants to check it out let me know. I am
kinda taking a risk on this, being fairly no name and all, but the
research I have done on it was reasonably reassuring.
