do awesome work and can do anything you like. He doesnt do a club
discount due to a lack of interest but tell him I sent ya and he will
cut you a good price.
hope this helps

Let's just say I'm not overly happy with Powertrax Customer Service.
They would not agree to ship it overnight and they wanted to try and
compromise and the best they would do is 2nd day air. So I had to
agree to pay the difference between 2nd day and nextday which I think
is a bunch of crap! They screw something up and they make me pay to
get the right stuff. If the dealer had sent me the wrong kit or
something then I could understand them not wanting to pay but this is
nobody's fault but the manufacturer's. The fact that they wanted to
go back and forth with me to save a few bucks just amazed me.

Hi gang,
Spent the weekend over at Bill Aylesworth's house installing a new cage. We liberated some of the design components from Phil's cage and then built our own. It is welded to the floor boards and the spreaders are welded to the original rear hoop and bolted at the same spots as the original "sports bars locations. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Well Bill gave me a screamin deal on this one (I was the test dummy
and we go back about 12 years)but I think he said he could put the
whole thing together for about 400 - 450$. Plus if you want to
paint it to match your jeep like I did you are in for about another
60-70 dollars in paint supplies from space age. We did the whole
thing in one day and I couldn't be happier.

The top still fits but you can tell the cage is there. This
doesn't bother me the extra head room is worth it (I am pushin 6'

on. I have not tried my bikini yet (will probably have to lay it

Brian,
To be honest I don't care if they make a penny off of this sale and
neither should they! I understand that a business has to make money
or they don't stay around for long. However, in this case they
screwed up and because of that they've left me without a vehicle,
ruined my offroading plans yesterday and frustrated me. I gave them a
chance to make some money and they messed up so at this point they
shouldn't be concerned about making money off of this one or saving
$15 but instead should be focusing on keeping me happy so I'll come
back again and so I won't go around telling people about the bad
experience I had with them. I'm all for rewarding businesses/people
when they do a good job but not when they do a poor job.

Nice bumper. But it looks like it would hurt your departure angle on the
trail.
What kind of load are you planning on pulling with it? I ask because
that cross member the bumper is bolted to is pretty week. You may
consider bolting it to the frame as well.

I originally contacted Powertrax tech support to see what the problem
was. That's when they told me that I wasn't the first to have this
problem. I could have maybe contacted the dealer but since I wanted
the correct parts ASAP I just went directly to the source and they
never told me to contact the dealer or even asked where I bought it
from. Since it was a manufacturing problem I didn't think the dealer
was responsible.

Brian,
To be honest I don't care if they make a penny off of this sale and
neither should they!

Hey All,
Gavino Prieto built a great bumper with reciever for my 84 cj7. I've
attached a couple of pics so you can check it out.
Thanks Gavino!

Just curious why you are dealing directly with Powertrax and not the
folks you bought it from? Maybe they could have helped you quicker
(or were they the ones who redirected you to Powertrax?).

Subject: Re: Warning: Powertrax No-slip design error
I originally contacted Powertrax tech support to see what the problem
was. That's when they told me that I wasn't the first to have this
problem. I could have maybe contacted the dealer but since I wanted
the correct parts ASAP I just went directly to the source and they
never told me to contact the dealer or even asked where I bought it
from. Since it was a manufacturing problem I didn't think the dealer
was responsible.
