Subject: Harmonic Balancer??
Hello Gang,
Lately I have been hearing a noise that sounded like an exhaust leak. I couldn't narrow it down, and it didn't seam to make any difference in performance, so I let it go. Well today I found it. My harmonic balancer seems to have moved to close to the timing change cover. It is slightly touching it, which does not look like it is causing any damage, but you can see that the area on the back of the Harmonic balancer is shinny from rubbing on the cover. And the serpentine belt is touching slightly about a few inches up.
Has anyone ever had this problem? Is there a reason for the HB to move to close. I replaced the HB with a new one last year. I can't remember when I took it off last year, if there might have been a spacer or washer that maybe I forgot to put back on or the such. The HB looks Great. The rubber is tight and not breaking or anything. Heck, if it wasn't for the belt touching and making noise, I probably wouldn't have even noticed this problem. It doesn't seem to be to threatening, but my daughter drives it mostly, and she does drive out of town, so I hate to mess with "what if".
Any help that you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA,
Thank you,
Casper

Looks good.
The only problem with your extra lift scenario is that 2" lift shackles
will only give you 1" of lift unless they are truly 4" longer than the
stock ones.

went. The diagrams I got from the dealer are real bad and kind of an

I also need to see the lines going past the ditributor coming from

You can have lunch under the Cottonwood trees at the old homestead and you may explore the old mill.

Hey Patrick, We own a scrambler and fabricated a spare mount in the back, of
course we also have a full cage and bobed the rear end, but there are some
pics of it on the azvjc site under gallery, Rob Holmes. if you have any
other scrambler related questions feel free to ask. Nice to see some more
long wheel base Jeep out in the open :)

Looks good.
The only problem with your extra lift scenario is that 2" lift shackles
will only give you 1" of lift unless they are truly 4" longer than the
stock ones.

I am working on a 93 Grand Cherokee that caught fire and need to
reconstruct the vaccum lines. I have no idea where the originals
went. The diagrams I got from the dealer are real bad and kind of an
exploded view. What I need is just to see under the hood for about
ten minutes and to see it myself or any pictures of the lines on the
manifold and back on the driver's side would be greatly appreciated.
I also need to see the lines going past the ditributor coming from
the passanger side. Thanks again.

Would help to know if 4.0 or V8. I have a 93 V8 in fountain Hills
depending on where you are at it might be closer for you.

Martinez Cabin is a wonderful trail for the "new" 4-wheeler with his stock vehicle and family.
This trail will take you into Martinez Canyon which has to be one of the most beautiful canyons in the area, in league with Sedona red bluffs!!
You can have lunch under the Cottonwood trees at the old homestead and you may explore the old mill.
Stock vehicle, stock tires and novice drivers, this would be a wonderful trail for you!!

Subject: What's the future of Cottonwood Rd access to FJ
I was out at FJ yesterday (been a while) and noticed the build up at
the Cottonwood Rd. entrance. That is the parking area now has a big
log fence around the perimeter and it looks like a gate could be
installed in the future limiting access (just a guess). Does this mean
we may loose free access to this area sometime soon or is this
nothing to worry about? (I haven't noticed any other discussions on
this).

Subject: Brake line brackets/RE upper control arms
I just installed REs adjustable upper control arms in the rear of the 1998 TJ. There is a bracket on the emergency brake cables and rear brake line that allow them to be bolted to the stock control arms. There is, however, no way to bolt these to the new RE arms. What, if anything, have you folks been doing to reattach these brackets?

John,
Just ziptie it out of the way of any articulating suspension parts. You are correct; there is no way to attach it to the RE control arm.

They were just left unattached on mine and the cables just drape over
