Follow up to my original post and topic:

I see that 4Wheel Parts is advertising the BFG 37x12.50.17 Krawlers
at $410.00 each (big delta between that and what Discount is selling
them for). Also 4Wheel Parts shows 37x12.50x17 GY MTRs at $234.00!
Big drop from when they first hit the market.
Anyone find a lower price than $410.00 for the BFGs?

Well to be honest, I figured the question had been already answered and answered well by several others.......I decided that since I could not add anymore of my knowledge and experience to what had already been said, I would just give my two cents and a little humor. However thinking back on this, in my experience I would definitely recommend the 98 5.9 Limited ZJ for someone that was hell bent on performance and good looks on the road.

You need a minimum of 8" on an XJ for 35's and you still will have to do some fender trimming. A 4" lift on an XJ will allow you to run 32's at best. I know a guy that has one of the 8" rock ready kits on his XJ and he runs 35's but he had to cut out his fenders and use Bushwacker cutout flares. Here is a pic of my XJ with 4" lift and 31's to give you an idea.

A 4.5" lift I would say stops at 31's. We upgraded to the 32's on
my wifes with the RE 4.5" lift and last weekend pushed the fender up
so hard it creased the lower part by pulling it inward. The 31's
pushed the fender flares of during full compression.

Hello All,

When: Depart 9am Sat 12 April
Where: Leaving from Central Mesa, Staying at KOA in Moab
Rating: 2.0+
Length: Sat. 12th thru Fri 18th

If anyone has plans to drive up to Moab for the first part of the Jeep safari we could caravan up there.

I have reservations in Moab from Sat the 12th thru Fri the 18th. I could not find a place to stay on Easter weekend, so I will probably return home on the 18th

I would like to meet up with other club members during the trip. If you go on your own I will be staying in a cabin at the KOA 3 miles south of town on Hwy 191. I am putting in the drawing for trail reservations with the Red Rock four wheelers for most of the 4 and 4+ trails. Contact me and we can put in to run some trails together. The application for trail spots must be received by the RRFW before March 12.

The trail guide and application are available at 4Wheelers supply.

Wonder why MM doesn't post any test reports on this site for their winches?
Afterall they own and operate winchtest.com. Could it be that MM had similar
tests done and their winches performed poorly (e.g. hydraulic issues, line
breakage etc..)?

Nice tactic to throw up a website that attempts to look unbiased
(winchtest.com) and post tests showing how poorly your competitor's product
performed, but have no tests results of your own products. hmm....

I am not saying Warn is better than MM or vice-versa, just that I wouldn't
base my purchasing decision off the information on this site.

Maybe someone has an auto trailer they could lend to get the Jeep where you need it to go. Alternately, how about a uhaul car hauler. I think the in-town rate is pretty low on those, provided you have something to pull it with.

Good luck!

On my way to work this morning all of a sudden there was thumping sound and I couldnt move any more. It appears my D35 rear blew out. I had to put it in 4wd and for about 10mph for about a quarter mile to get to work.

Can anybody help me with a spare and help me put it in?? I cant even get home this afternoon and I dont have the money right now to pay the dealer to put a new one in... I can tell anything about the problem by looking. But if I was to guess the gears inside broke off. It jumps when im moving.

Please Help me.... :(

If ANYONE can help please email me or call me on my Cell at 602-348-6457 or my Direst line at work at 480-481-7752

Right now im at 60th st and Thomas. Butif anyone can help I can have it towed some where.

Thanks in advance,
Kyle

maybe he broke one of the spider gears or something. I dont have anything
for a d35 or I'd loan it up in a second. I was thinking of suggesting
disconnecting the rear driveshaft and driving home in 4h but its not worth
the chance of doing more damage to the rear if it is something minor like a
spider gear. I would suggest he have it towed somewhere where you can get it
opened up and get a better look. I would also think that he would want it
flat bed towed (or at least lifted from the rear). I'd say get it to my
house, but I am a good 70 miles from him. There's gotta be someone close to
where hes at.

What I'd like to get is a PTO for my 94 Wrangler. Then I could install an
engine-powered
winch. Electric winches are for wussies! I could also install a post-hole
digger! Or any
number of incredibly cool attachments.

Anyone heard of a PTO kit for Wrangler?

Thanks,
Tony

Subject: RE: Re: Anti-wrap bar done

I welded a cross member on top of the frame rails between the frame and the
body. That is why my shackle hangs down instead of up. I wanted to keep
everything as high as possible. The top bar at the axel end is attached to a
structure that I welded onto the Ford 9" housing. I was originally going to
use the structure to support a three link system when I first built it
because I was going to do 3/4 elliptic spring system but never got around to
it.

That is nice, Randy. What is the upper shackle mount attached to?
Also the upper bar at the axle has a flange on it, how is that
attached to the housing?
