Subject: 1987 Jeep Wagoneer Lift Kit?
I have had this Jeep for a long time now and finally am fixing it up!
I don't know too much about them and I am not sure what type of lift
kit and how hard it is to install.. Any suggestions on what type I
can buy for this jeep?

Greetings.
I am a newbie with a Liberty that needs a lift. I decided on the
lift, but I could use help on a good shop to install it. I was
thinking about tossing the business to "Unique 4x4" on W. Eliot in
Gilbert. Right price for the lift and a reasonable quote (2 hrs) at
a reasonable shop rate for the install. I am hoping someone has
used them adn can commend them for this type of job (rear pucs,
small front pucs and small spacers= 2" lift and 31's). Thanks in
advance.

Ok, after trips to both autozone (only has 4.5" puller) and checker
(has 5.5" puller, but its only 1" deep, wont clear), now where do I
go to get at hub/drum puller?
Trying to do rear brakes (11") on 58 cj-5.... took a while to just
get past the backwards threads on the drivers side, but now rear
drum, something inside has given way, can see a spring thru the
adjuster window, and no visible adjuster, break is dragging on this
corner.
Yes, have removed the 3 screws holding hub to drum, have
tried 'encouraging' the drum off with some motorcyle tire
spoons..suceeded in breaking 1 off.
any ideas (short of big sledgehammer?)?

1. Emergency Brake disengaged? (I know... but I have forgotten this myself
in the past)
2. Warm up the brake drum with a propane torch and persuade it with a
sledge hammer... I've yet to have this fail.
Tom LaFrance is a brake specialist who teaches college courses in brakes...
I'll forward this email to him and I suspect he will respond with
assistance.

Yes, like Rick said. Be sure to see if the electric fan comes on. I had this problem before on my old Cherokee. In my case, the fan looked connected but one of the pins was bent.

Was the system "burped" after installing the new parts?? I always let mine run with the radiator cap off until all the air is burped out through radiator. Air in the system can cause overheating.
Also, is the aux fan coming on?? It should come on when the temp hits around 215, or when the A/C is on. Maybe when the radiator was installed, the fan wasn't hooked back up. Just an idea.
Good Luck

Anyone have an opinion on this? My buddy's radiator was getting a little old and cruddy. Well, the car would overheat every now and then. We assumed that the thermo was sticking. Well, he took the think to Hawkes Radiator and they put a new radiator and thermo in there. Now it overheats! If you sit there and idle the temp keep climbing. Anyone reason why this would be? The temp stayed pretty steady at 210 before, why would it get worse with the new radiator?
Thanks in advance.

I know you are not supposed to use part time 4WD on dry pavement, but...
All other things being equal, if I floor the gas pedal, from a dead stop, on dry pavement, would I get the same acceleration if the Jeep was in 4WD-high or in 2WD?
Am looking for the effect of variable amount of traction on a set amount of torque.

Trying to do rear brakes (11") on 58 cj-5.... took a while to just

drum, something inside has given way, can see a spring thru the

Yes, have removed the 3 screws holding hub to drum, have

any ideas (short of big sledgehammer?)?

Was the system "burped" after installing the new parts?? I always let mine run with the radiator cap off until all the air is burped out through radiator. Air in the system can cause overheating.
Also, is the aux fan coming on?? It should come on when the temp hits around 215, or when the A/C is on. Maybe when the radiator was installed, the fan wasn't hooked back up. Just an idea.

Darnella,
It was great having you ride with me. Though I still can't hear very well.
I think it has to do with someone screaming on every rock we crawled on!!
LOL J/K.
See you on the trail,
Nasser

Subject: [az_vjc] Training Class Thanks
I had a blast...as usual!!!
I am glad I did not miss this training today. Great trainers, instructors
and awesome drivers. I met more new faces today as I did on Broken
Arrow...yikes!!!
It was really good to see the women ruling in the caravan from the east
siiiiide. Nice meeting you Tereasa and the other ladies. Nicole,I can not
believe I missed seeing you, AGAIN...
I appreciate the trainers that instructed me on what to do and what not to
do....especially not doing the rock climb. After riding with Nasser, I will
never look at another rock the same....LOL...just kidding. Thanks Masser
for letting me enjoy that experience.
A BIG thank you to all and see you on the trails.
I like the wording onsomeones Jeep...it said, " Silly Boys, Jeeps are for
Girls". RightOn!!!
Stu it was a pleasure meeting you and Hackle aka (Jim).
See ya on the trails...

Hello All,
Joe Bornkessel lead a trail run Sunday, April 6, 2003 across Terminator (Upper)
We had a total of 7 Jeeps run Upper Terminator and then run Predator, everything from a Willy's CJ-5 to a Rubicon. All the Jeeps performed well. We all had a great day, with great weather and great company. No real carnage or body damage, just one broken valvestem and one sidewall injury. All in all a good run with a great bunc of guys, Thanks to you all for running the trail and see you soon!!

unsure of transfer case but have a 300 so might just stick with it. have a
dana 60 rear, working on the front. the entire thing is tore down again
because I am taking the frame to get sandblasted to see what work needs to
be done to the frame. Right now for suspension I have a set of 4 inch lift
springs sut up as spring over. Once I get every thing back together I am
going to go see hunter for a coil over and a cage.

the complete one turned out to be a 44, it is a kingpin 44. The money you
would save on the purchase would be enough to get you a set of Warn Alloys
and a set of CTM ujoints. Unless your plan is to run larger than 38 " tires
you would be in great shaped.

Luckily my children were out of the room when that first photo popped up. They would not have understood&.and I would have spent the next week attempting to explain why a friend of Dads (yes, they have heard me mention the name Sharky) dresses up in Moms old clothes! I am so lucky they were not around.
Now, to move them over to the pay-per-view section of www.stu-offroad.com (I am going to be RICH!)
